Julie Krugman Studio Voice lessons for Teens and Young Adults Julie Krugman is a Mezzo-Soprano located in the Boston Metro-West area. Upon completion of her degrees, Ms. Ms.

She has performed professionally throughout the United States during her 25-year career. Julie graduated with a degree in Vocal Performance from the highly acclaimed Indiana University School of Music and went on to receive her Master of Vocal Performance from the Northwestern University School of Music in Evanston, Illinois. Krugman performed around the Chicago area, most notably with the Chicago

Symphony Chorus and the Chicago Lyric Opera Chorus. Some of her favorite opera roles while in the Chicago area include Dinah in Trouble in Tahiti and The Witch in Hansel and Gretel. A family move took her to the San Francisco Bay area where she continued to sing and was a featured soloist in many Oratorio performances, most notably as the Alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah and the Mezzo-Soprano soloist in both Rutter’s Feel The Spirit and Ray’s Gospel Mass. Since her move to the Boston area, Ms. Krugman has been a featured soloist and ensemble member with the Worcester Chorus and the Back Bay Chorale. She is also a regular soloist at the First Congregational Church of West Boylston and Temple Sinai in Worcester. In the fall of 2012, Ms. Krugman joined the Visual and Performing Arts faculty at Worcester State University as an Applied Music Instructor in Voice and as an Adjunct Faculty member teaching Opera Appreciation (Music 150). Since opening the Julie Krugman Voice Studio in 2009, she has developed a business that includes 28 middle and high school students. As a voice instructor, she has coached many of her students in successful auditions for Central District Choir, All State Choir, NATS Regional Competitions, Classical Singer/Auditions Plus National Competitions, and roles in school and community musical productions. Krugman is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). Julie lives with her husband Josh and her sons Jack and Ben in Westborough, MA, and teaches out of a private home studio.

Great first day at the NATS Winter Workshop - freshened up my German diction - have some new tips for acting to the song and heard wonderful singing at the Finals for the NATSAA Competition. Our New England star, Mary Letellier of the Maine Chapter, didn’t make the finals but sang her heart out in the Prelims earlier in the day.
