Concentration: A Cornerstone of the Montessori Philosophy

In Montessori, concentration is viewed as a foundation for meaningful learning and development. Children are given the time, freedom, and carefully prepared environment they need to become deeply engaged in purposeful work. Rather than interrupting a child who is focused, Montessori educators protect and support that period of concentration, allowing the child to work at their own pace, repeat activities, solve problems, and experience the satisfaction of completing a task independently.

Through these sustained periods of focus, children gradually develop attention, perseverance, self-discipline, independence, and confidence—skills that extend far beyond the classroom and support lifelong learning.

Our Elementary students spent a morning at Community Harvest Project in Grafton Community Harvest Project, harvesting carrots and chard grown to address food insecurity. Their haul will join a much larger effort to bring fresh food to communities across Massachusetts. When the work is real, the learning stays with them!

The classrooms are once again filled with laughter, learning, and excitement for the new school year.

In Elementary, the year began with the First Great Lesson, The Coming of the Universe. Through story, demonstrations, and a little bit of wonder, students explored the physical science of how our universe and our planet came to be - setting the stage for so much of the learning and discovery that will unfold throughout the year.

Wishing all the children in our wider community a wonderful start to the new school year (and their parents, too.)

A little reminder for these first few days - even positive transitions take energy. New classrooms, new routines, new faces, earlier mornings - it’s a lot to take in.

A little extra time, a little extra patience, and keeping home routines simple and predictable can go a long way while everyone settles in.

Looking forward to a happy, healthy school year of growth, discovery, and plenty of smile-filled days ahead!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Maria Montessori. ☀️🌎

In Montessori classrooms, a birthday is marked by a journey around the sun - one trip for each year of life.

Today, we celebrate what would be Maria Montessori's 156th journey and the extraordinary growth of an educational movement that began with something beautifully simple - the careful observation of the child's true nature, developmental needs, and potential.

Mr. Greg is our groundskeeper, maintenance man, problem solver and fixer of all the things - and, as you can see, a pretty popular guy around here.

It takes a lot of people doing a lot of things to make eBridge the amazing community that it is.

We're grateful for every member of our team who care for our school, our campus, and most importantly the children who fill it with excitement each day!

eBridge will be closed this week as our staff come together for Orientation Week.

These hardworking educators will spend the week learning together, preparing their environments, strengthening connections as a team, and building the foundation for a successful school year.

We're grateful for the care, thought, and energy they bring to this work - and we can't wait to welcome our students and families back to campus for Student Orientation on Aug. 31st!
