Hello SMC students! The start of the SMRC elections is right around the corner. Join SMRC and our CRO Abigail to learn more about the council and the election process. As part of Impact Month, SMRC is holding a Blood Drive! Since the start of the pandemic, the number of blood donors in Canada has decreased. Now more than ever, your donation is needed! Please check our highlights on how to register to donate and earn your Dean’s Cup points through the link in our linktree (see pinned post).

From Feb 1-28, SMRC presents Impact Month: Give and Get! Join us throughout the month of February to recognize how giving is beneficial both to the recipient and the giver. The act of giving builds your own character and promotes a more positive environment for everyone!

Our four events this year will be the Blood Drive, the Clothing Drive, SMC Staff Thank You Cards, and Trainings. More information about each individual event will be posted soon. Impact Month is not just an opportunity to have a positive impact, but also a chance to earn Dean’s Cup Points! So we hope you’ll come and give this month, gaining new perspectives along the way.

The St. Mike’s Residence Council is now open to receiving applications for the Vice-President position.

This role involves providing general support to the President and council, representing the council when the President is unavailable, along with planning and overseeing SMRC events throughout the year to build SMC spirit. It is a great opportunity to get involved with the community, as well as to build leadership and teamwork skills with the SMRC team. Applicants must be SMC residents for the rest of the academic year (Winter 2022).

Hi SMC residents! We are glad to announce Dean’s Cup kick-off event: the Build-A-Banner social! Come join us and your house on the SMC Quad Saturday, October 23rd to create a banner that will represent your house for Dean’s Cup throughout the year.

We will be providing supplies, as well as… ice cream! We are excited to announce we will be offering Nani’s Gelato! Ice cream will be on a first come, first served basis.

In order to follow Covid 19 guidelines, the event will run from 12 to 3 PM and that time will be split into two sections. The first one from 12 to 1:20 pm with Tri House, Sorbara 2&3, Elmsley 2&3, and the second one from 1:30 to 3pm with Queen’s Park Buildings, Historic Houses, Sorbara 1&4 and Elmsley 1&4.

RESULTS ARE IN: The vote has shown that SMC residents would prefer to have a soccer event! Thank you so much for everyone who voted and let us know their preference. An official announcement with the event information will be shared in the near future. As of now, save the date of *Sunday, October 31st* from 1:30-4:30pm. We look forward to seeing you then!!

Hello SMC residents! As your council, SMRC values transparency and want to ensure that you are as involved as possible in our events. This post focuses on clarifying certain points surrounding Dean’s Cup, and how you can get involved for our October event.

We apologize for the confusion about our first event. As some of you may know, we initially planned for it to take place on September 25th. Unfortunately, we lost our venue due to Covid policy complications. Our intention was then to reschedule it to last weekend and have it take place here at SMC. Despite our efforts, this change was not possible for reasons beyond our control. As a result, we decided to cancel this first event and focus our efforts on our October Event to make it the best we possibly can.

This is where the link in our bio comes in! Given that our September event will no longer be taking place, we have the choice of doing either soccer or ultimate frisbee as our October event. We want to make sure that you feel involved in this event and that you are as excited as us for it!
