Today, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we’re honoured to share a powerful artwork by Jordyn Hendricks, an Indigenous student at OCAD U.

Through found materials and layered imagery, Jordyn explores themes of land, body, and commodification, drawing connections between settler colonial expansion, the sacredness of land, and the objectification of Indigenous women. Their work challenges us to confront the ongoing impacts of colonial systems and the MMIWG2S crisis.

As we reflect today, may we recommit to truth, accountability, and meaningful relationship with the land and Indigenous communities.
