Commemorative Tenugui for AUSKF Iaido Camp!

This year’s tenugui features the phrase 実学実藝 (Jitsugaku Jitsugei) — practical learning, practical art — from “An Encouragement of Learning” by Fukuzawa Yukichi, a pioneer of modern Japanese thought and education.

The calligraphy was brushed by the late Nakanishi Yasushi Sensei, Hanshi in Iaido, Kendo, and Jodo, and Shinpan-Cho of the first All US Iaido Championships 30 years ago.

Each participant will receive one at camp.

Save the date! The 2025 AUSKF Iaido Camp will be in Houston, Texas from July 31 - August 3. The event will include a seminar, national Taikai, and Shinsa up the 7th Dan. Details, such as registration, will be announced soon.

Des Moines Iaido had two students attend the AUSKF Jodo national seminar this year. It was a great event, largest jodo-only seminar to date. I didn't get good pictures, so I'll share this post from SUSKIF.
