Sweet story alert! Mr. Craig, one of our District shuttle drivers, got to know Woodland Hills Elementary second grader Manny through their daily rides to school. Along the way, he learned that Manny didn’t have a bike for the summer and that his family wasn't in a position to purchase one.

Wanting to help, Mr. Craig went to Principal Shumaker, who connected with the Waukee Community Schools Foundation. During the last week of school, Mr. Craig surprised Manny with a brand-new bike, helmet, and bike lock.

Thank you to Mr. Craig, the Foundation, and the Woodland Hills team for making this special moment possible! This is what community looks like. 🚲

Throwback Thursday! Mrs. Feriz’s class was excited to play with the Woodland Hills chicks! It was a wonderful hands-on experience filled with curiosity, responsibility, and lots of smiles! 💛

On Wednesday our 4th graders went to BizTown! They had such a great time learning about paychecks, taxes, loans and so much more! They experienced first hand what it was like to have a job and pay bills.

Have you ever witnessed a chick hatch? Our students did!

Mrs. Meyer's class visited the Woodland Hills Chicks to learn about life cycles, observe growth up close, and watch chicks hatch right before their eyes. It was a hands-on, unforgettable science experience! Full of curiosity and big smiles.

Join us for the FREE WD Football Camp!

When: Wednesday, May 20 | 3:45–4:30 PM
Where: Green space near the elementary school
Who: Any child interested in learning and playing football

Take advantage of this free opportunity to learn the fundamentals of football in a fun, supportive environment. Coaches from the Waukee Youth Football League, Waukee High School, and current Warrior players will lead participants through engaging drills while encouraging teamwork and confidence. Kids will also have the chance to play and learn alongside their classmates.

Third Grade Highlight!

The grade wrapped up our school year of testing with a special surprise testing box reveal! Students celebrated all of their hard work with a classroom switch filled with fun activities, games, and smiles.
