WDM Valley Debate champs Stanford! This weekend the Valley team competed in the Stanford Online tournament. Our novice LDers dominated the field. Three novices advanced to elim rounds: Edward Reames, Dannick Nzimi, and Seth Smith. Seth finished in the top 16; Dannick finished in the quarterfinals (top 8); and Edward was the tournament champion!
Our JV students also competed well. Both Lorelei Wemmie and Ben Drummond finished 4-2 in prelims and missed clearing on points. This is a fantastic result at this very challenging tournament!

At the Minneapple on November 8-9, freshman Dannick Nzimi won the novice division; sophomore Abbie Miller was in quarterfinals of the JV division; and senior Landon Stull was in double-octofinals (top 32) in the varsity division.
At the Bettendorf tournament on November 15-16, four of our novices advanced to elimination rounds, all freshmen: Kate Hoerr and Maaher Samir were in quarterfinals, Reighlee Sowden made it to semifinals, and Edward Reames placed second.
That same weekend, senior Jayden Noblitt and junior Landon Stull attended the Badgerland Chung Vitational. Jayden made it to quarterfinals, while Landon was the **tournament champion**, not dropping a single ballot. Landon also received his second bid to the Tournament of Champions in April at the University of Kentucky in Lexington; he is now fully qualified for TOC! w00t

Valley Debate is in Florida for the Blue Key tournament. Senior Joshua Burriola, sophomore Abbie Miller, and freshmen Sienna Hardinge, Dannick Nzimi, and Reighlee Sowden are enjoying the warmth, learning a lot, and dodging alligators.
