Uniform fittings this week!

Juniors and Seniors Monday, August 10th from 1-3 pm

Freshmen and Sophomores Tuesday, August 11 from 1-3 pm

Anyone still needing a uniform Wednesday, August 12 from 1-3 pm

Here are some reminders to keep in mind before arriving for your fitting:

* there are many parts to the uniforms so it can take up to 30 minutes to go through the process.

* bring payment for fees OR pay ahead (google form to fill out in order to calculate fees)

* wear t-shirts and shorts/leggings and the socks like they would wear at games.

* have long hair up in ponytails or buns because we won’t have any supplies in the band hall

* Seniors will need their instruments/flags if they want for their banners

* color guard - follow instructions of the color guard leadership

Uniform fees can be paid at the time of the fitting, or at Tuesday, Aug. 11th's Parent meeting. Fees collected by Card/Cash/Check

Day 5: Friday Funday with Color Wars!

Day 4 had the Marchmasters a bit “Misty”, until snacks finally “let the sunshine in.”

Stormy weather Wednesday flipped the script for band camp day 3!

Rainy days and Tuesdays won't keep the Marchmasters down for day 2 of band camp!

There is a significant need for volunteers on July 8th (next Wednesday) from 8-10pm at the Valley Stadium to serve with other band parents and students. This event is a Drum and Bugle Corp International. It is likely that you will be finished serving before 10:00pm.

If you volunteer, you will get in free to the event. Students will receive silver cord hours as long as they submit their hours. This will be a really incredible event that is actually being put on by Ankeny Bands, but due to work being done on their facilities, they reached out to us and asked us to host. Quite an honor and opportunity for us!

We are in great need for volunteers for July 8th to work in the concession stand at Valley Stadium.

In exchange for our time, the Valley Band Boosters receive funds that are spread across all Valley Bands throughout the school year. We are needing adult volunteers as well as student volunteers. Students will receive silver cord hours as long as they submit their hours.

Congrats to Summer! Come hear her and a "FEAST" of other great music (and food!) this Sunday, 3pm at the PAC.

Congratulations to our 1st Place Winner!
Summer Kinnan began her musical journey in 1st grade with piano lessons. In 5th grade, she joined elementary band and started playing the flute. Since 6th grade, she has taken private flute lessons with Dr. Kimberly Helton and studies piano with Cynthia Giunta. At Valley, Summer participates in Symphony Band and Marching Band. She has performed in several honor bands, including the Iowa All-State Band (2024, 2025), Drake Honor Band Wind Ensemble (2024, 2025), SCIBA Honor Band (2022, 2023), and the All Iowa 8th Grade Honor Band (2024). She also often accompanies her church choir on the flute. Outside of music, Summer enjoys volleyball and spending time with friends and family.

Summer will join the ensemble onstage during FEAST! on May 3. She will be the featured soloist, playing Otar Gordeli's “Concerto for Flute”.
