We held off on sharing our Blue Room Nursery School students’ Van Gogh-inspired artwork until after their programs and graduations, giving families the opportunity to experience their welcome bulletin board firsthand!

The children were involved in every step of the process, which included looking at Van Gogh's Sunflower artwork, using magnifying glasses to get an up-close look at sunflowers and seeds, reading a book on how sunflowers grow, collaboratively painting a large table and flower pot (even the detail), and individually painting their own sunflowers.

Dutch artist, Vincent Van Gogh, created his Sunflower paintings in anticipation of a visit from his friend and fellow artist, Paul Gauguin. The children learned that the artist wanted Paul's room to be bright and welcoming. The paintings filled the room Paul stayed in. We hoped that our finished Sunflowers would make our families feel just as welcomed! 🌻☀️💛

We have officially completed our Nursery School programs and Pre-K graduations in the Blue Room! 💙 🎓 The teachers are incredibly proud of all of our children and everything they have accomplished this year. Thank you to our families for your support, kindness and trust. Your encouragement and involvement have made this year so special. We feel very grateful! Congratulations to all!

🎓💚💛What a wonderful visit from some of our former Cookie Corner graduates. Seeing and talking with you made our hearts so full. We are so proud of each one of you and love watching you grow and thrive. Moments like these remind us how special our little school and community truly are! Once a Cookie Corner kid, always a Cookie Corner kid.

This afternoon, our Nursery School children were visited by Vivienne Budzyn, sister of classmate Perri, who shared her gymnastic talent! Vivienne is 10 years old and has been doing gymnastics since 2021. She is a Level Xcel Platinum gymnast at Shooting Starz Gymnastics, where she practices 10 hours a week. Her favorite event is bars, but she is best at her floor routine. Vivienne recently went to states to compete in all four events!

Today she allowed the children to get an up-close look at her medals. After we got a good look, each child placed a medal on Vivienne's neck. Then she performed some of her floor routine, led the children in stretches and tumbling, and finally presented our little ones with medals of their own! Vivienne even provided blueberry yogurt snacks, which were so yummy. We had a lot of fun and want to send her a BIG THANK YOU for getting us moving and showing off her talent!

Last week, we anonymously received two large boxes of popcorn in honor of the work our teachers and staff do every day. We truly cannot express how much this thoughtful gift meant to us! Last week, our Red Room children had a wonderful time on our field trip to Blue Ribbon Dairy! We started our visit by listening to a fun story about a battle at an ice cream shoppe and learning about the importance of being kind and respectful to our friends.

During our tour, the children were very excited to see how the soft serve machine works and learn where the ice cream is stored in the large coolers behind the counter. We also got to see where they keep the half-gallons of ice cream, ice cream cakes, and other yummy items sold to customers.

After the tour, the children colored a fun ice cream-themed picture while enjoying a delicious ice cream treat. Each child got to choose their own ice cream flavor and add their own sprinkles, which was definitely a favorite part of the trip!
