Language Exchange will be on pause throughout August, but we’ll be back in September with more opportunities to practice languages, connect with others, and celebrate our multilingual community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this season! We can’t wait to see familiar faces and welcome new ones when we return!

ExcEL News August 2026 Schools and districts across the nation are partnering with ExcEL to build educator capacity and improve outcomes for multilingual learners.

We’re thrilled to celebrate Cindy’s (Communications and Advocacy chair) selection to the inaugural Data Storytelling Leadership Residency through Manhattan Neighborhood Network - MNN and The Nellie Mae Education Foundation! 🎉

Investing in storytelling means investing in stronger advocacy, stronger communities, and a future where multilingual voices are heard.

Our friendly tutors, Hender and Lucien, are here to help those in grades K - 10 with summer homework! Drop in between 2 - 4 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays until August 20.

Higher education should be within reach for every Rhode Islander.

That's why our budget extends the Rhode Island College (RIC) Hope Scholarship, helping more students earn a degree and get a good-paying job.

Next session, I'll work with the General Assembly to make this program permanent.
