TMWC Studio for Singers and Songwriters provides private and group lessons to aspiring vocalists and composers in the RI area.
Imagine singing in front of your audience and the voice that comes out is the clearest, most powerful, emotionally moving and professional sound that you can imagine. As you sing, you feel that singing this way is effortless and you are completely connected to the song you are singing. In my studio, I partner with my students to help them create exactly that: a beautiful, expressive sound with the

Happy New Year!
Trying something new this year with my students... A virtual recital on Google Classroom. Participating students are posting videos of themselves performing songs they have been preparing during the semester and then commenting on each other's performance. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
Just ordered a new USB mic for remote teaching! So excited!!!!!
At the risk of a slightly long post, I wanted to just take a sec to talk about how important it is to have a mind-body connection when you are playing your instrument.
We are often in a place as musicians that we can read music faster than our body can sing or play it. This can become really frustrating when we practice and can fuel our gremlin.
This is where mindfulness as a practice connects to music. It isn't how fast you can learn a piece, it's how well you can connect yourself to it so that when you play it, regardless of the mistakes you can deliver the message of the composer.
This doesn't mean not being accurate, but if we don't slow down to let our body catch up to our expectations, accuracy won't happen either. So take your time and let yourself get fully connected with a selection of music - even when it's just one or two measures.
hey - I did it in only four paragraphs!

TMWC Music Studio Voice, Piano and Composition Lessons
I have to say I was somewhat skeptical about teaching piano online, now that I've done it...I actually really like it.
My voice studio is now both in-person and digital. As of yesterday, I am excited to say I started offering lessons remotely through Zoom(r). I just did a tech run with a former student of mine to make sure everything worked, and we had an excellent lesson. Thanks to Marissa DiBiase for the opportunity!
Had an awesome time teaching foundations in music this morning at CCRI. We started by discussing rhythm and how to play rhythms in 4-4 time and then we split into groups to play rhythms on African drums and hand bells. So cool to see how they're progressing already!
