🎨🇺🇸 Congratulations, Jane Christenson!

We are proud to celebrate Jane for being named a finalist in the America 250 Utah Essay & Art Contest! Jane submitted a beautiful mixed-media artwork featuring the Statue of Liberty, created with oil pastels and acrylic paint.

As one of only 130 students statewide selected for this honor, Jane has been awarded a $250 scholarship in recognition of her outstanding work and creativity.

Way to go, Jane! We are proud of your talent, hard work, and achievement! 👏🦅

We are proud to congratulate Santiago and Gabriel on being selected to represent American Preparatory Academy at Utah Boys State this week!

Utah Boys State is one of the state's premier leadership and civic education programs, where outstanding young men from across Utah participate in hands-on government, leadership training, public speaking, and community-building experiences. Delegates gain firsthand experience in how city, county, and state government operate while developing the skills and confidence needed to become future leaders.

We know Santiago and Gabriel will represent APA with integrity, leadership, and excellence. We wish them a memorable week filled with learning, growth, and new friendships.

We are proud to announce that Jane Christenson and Sharon Sanchez were selected to represent our school at ALA Utah Girls State this week at Weber State University!!

Sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, Girls State is one of the nation's premier leadership and citizenship programs for young women. During this week-long experience, participants gain hands-on experience in government by running for office, debating legislation, participating in elections, and working together to create and operate a functioning state government. Students also develop leadership, public speaking, and civic engagement skills while building friendships with other outstanding young women from across Utah.

Selection for Girls State is based on demonstrated leadership, scholarship, service, and character, making this a tremendous honor for both students. Participants have opportunities to serve in city, county, and state government roles, and some may even be selected to represent Utah at Girls Nation in Washington, D.C.

We are excited for Jane and Sharon to represent our school, learn from this incredible experience, and continue developing the leadership skills that will help shape their futures. Congratulations, Jane and Sharon!

Candidates will have the opportunity to attend a short introduction, take a brief school tour, and participate in individual interviews.
