Granite Nutrition Services Granite Nutrition Services is dedicated to providing quality, nutritious meals to your students, helping them meet their educational goals.

Granite School District Nutrition Service Department is responsible for preparing and serving approximately 40,000 school breakfast and lunch meals per day, throughout the District. In addition we provide meals to Youth in Custody, Head Start, Young Parents, ESL, Even Start, After School Snacks, Title One, and other District programs. We also provide a full range of catering services from special

school functions to luncheons and dinners for our students, adults, and guests. Our variety of menu selections is designed to ensure we meet the nutritional needs of our students as established by new USDA guidelines. Our dietitian can assist you with information on how we can work together to meet your child's special dietary needs. We also assist parents in completing an application for school meal benefits.

It's breakfast for lunch 🍳🥞! We're serving up a new whole grain waffle this year! Last Wednesday elementary students enjoyed these new waffles with chicken while Monday they had the option of breakfast platter featuring our new waffles with egg and sausage patties.

On Monday, we served a new entree item at our secondary schools that did not turn out as anticipated. We received feedback from multiple parties about this. This menu item was something we were excited about and we are disheartened that not only did it turn our poorly and different from our prior tests but that students were served a subpar product.

We know that this is not acceptable and we are working to ensure this does not happen again in the future.

We remain dedicated to improving our program and processes and will use this an opportunity to learn and grow. As always, we appreciate your feedback as we continue to try out new things!

Did you know we have a new tortilla chip for our nachos? We now using a local processing vendor that specializes in yellow corn chips! (You know them as Don Julio at the supermarket. In a Cottonwood High taste test, they were preferred over Tostitos! 😎) We served them at our elementary schools for beef and cheese nachos this past Tuesday. 🧀🐂 Shout-out to the Nutrition Team at Arcadia Elementary School, Granite School District, Taylorsville, Utah for their spectacular salad bar/nacho toppings! 🫘🥗
