Leo season is bold and bright; wild yet productive; full of sunshine and grace. The heat of August is for expansion, inclusivity, and playfulness. It is a time to invite new activity into your life, to radiate sweetness, and let your freak flag fly! May the destructive systems of capitalism, patriarchy, and white supremacy unravel and may the remnants re-form into a lucid entanglement of life; fruitful ecosystems of conscientious pleasure. May this time of empowerment remind us all to consult with our ancestors and prepare for our future generations.

A note from Camlyn ❤️‍🩹: “To give my heart and nervous system some deep rest, I’m stepping away from the mobile moon cooperative as a core team member. You’ll still see me attend QTBIPOC night and other events here and there. Other than that, just know I’m tending to my roots, my body, and my relationships.

With Love, Camlyn

Feelings!!! They are integral to our communities, our gardens, our memories and our movements. Feel deeply and cascade into July. Create containers where you can safely move through sensations. Crying, singing, encountering delight, expressing your rage, laughing and letting yourself be utterly bewildered are just a few ways to experience your feelings. To feel fully is not to allow the death spiral to consume your heart, but rather to exercise your heart’s capacity to resist being devoured. Apathy is seductive, ever tempting you to fall into its numbness; to cancel community; to give up on the seedlings as they wither in the heat. But Cancer season is not about submitting to despair. It’s about using your intuition and nurturing the people and places you can take care of. Offer compassion for yourself and for others. Water the garden at sunrise. Go outside. Take baths. Release the grief.

May you be held and grounded in love and support.

In collaboration with the Black Feminist Eco Lab and Environmental Humanities program at the University of Utah, the Mobile Moon Co-op is hosting an emergent strategy festival June 22 from 5:30-9pm at the Tracy Aviary (Liberty Park)! Sign up free free with the link in our bio!

As threats to Homeplace - the body, shelter, and environment - continue within our current climate, we are bringing together an array of local organizers, artists, community organizers, and justice advocates. We invite change-makers like yourself to come to the conversation of communally remapping Homeplace. There will be a really really free market provided by .mutualaid, free food by and others, free zines, a give and take wall, a death cafe, a community altar and insightful facilitated dialogues and activities for you to connect with many intersections of justice and joy.

We are so grateful for the guiding work of and her book Emergent Strategy.

Core Principles of Emergent Strategy:

1. Change is constant. (Be like water).
2. Small is good, small is all. (The large is a reflection of the small.)
3. There is always enough time for the right work.
4. Less Prep, More Presence.
5. There is a conversation in the room that only these people at this moment can have. Find it.
6. Never a failure, always a lesson.
7. Trust the people. (If you trust the people, they become trustworthy).
8. What you pay attention to grows.
9. Move at the speed of trust. Focus on critical connections more than critical mass - build resilience by building relationships.

We have QTBIPOC Night at Moonstead Farm tomorrow!!! Wednesday June 4th at 7pm at 2551 Hempstead St. Tomorrow we are going to have instruments you can play with and collage materials!

If you hold white privilege/ pass as white in other spaces we ask that you honor this as a closed space. ————-

To our mixed identity friends...
Thank you for your inquiries on whether or not our QTBIPOC closed space welcomes those who “pass” both as white or as mixed. We’ll do our best to put into words something that also comes with an energy.

White people may assume you are white, but that can be due to “main character” syndrome and not seeing other narratives in a person. That is not our litmus test.

In your presence, are other bodies of color at rest?
When you enter a room, does it consciously or unconsciously put BIPOC people on guard? Or do they know you are BIPOC and safe? That is our litmus test.

We are not erasing your mixed identity or defining who you are. We are simply trying to create a space where QTBIPOC nervous systems can exhale.

If you are unsure, and would be happy to visit with you, get to know you, and see how future QTBIPOC farm days align.
