Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director is responsible for working closely with the director in managing the day-to-day operations of the center, including but not limited to:
· Supervision of the program on an ongoing basis in all classrooms.
· Recruiting and training teachers and other staff and provide continued professional development.
· Work with director in managing staff and schedules to cover enrollment and attendance.
· Recruit families who need care and maintain the maximum enrollment.
· Confer with any parent on policies and procedures and any concerns.
· Work with Director to ensure clients are billed and accounts are collected each month.
· Assure that all licensing standards are being upheld.
Requirements:
· Must have minimum of CDA, NAC or equivalent and 2 years in early childhood education and required courses for Bureau of Child Care Licensing.
· Professionalism and sufficient maturity and good judgment to function in crisis situations.
· Sensitivity to individual and group needs of children.
· Ability to supervise and create an atmosphere of positive and appropriate discipline for staff and children.
· Ability to communicate with parents effectively.
· Ability to have a flexible schedule and work 40 hours per week.
· Ability to drive a bus.
