J: Amy, I’m going to be an astronaut. I have never seen inside of space. And I’ve never seen a real alien.

We were without our playground for a while, but we have it back!

Everyone has been so excited to play and Jeffrey has been practicing some new tricks!

I am sure to stay close by and provide the safest possible environment to let the children explore their abilities. They try new things and fail often, but we work together to find a better way!

We work a lot on learning new skills and practicing them independently. Today Kiki put in the time and made an entire train track all by herself! She was so proud of herself and couldn’t wait to tell me all about it!

We love when siblings come to daycare together! No one knows how to make a little brother laugh and smile like a big sister. And the older kiddos, even totally unrelated, are always enamored with the darling babies we get to hang out with. So much fun and play, creativity and problem solving, empathy, and caretaking can be learned just from the kids’ curiosity and desire to interact with babies. Though the kids and babies arent always on the same schedule, the times they spend awake and active together are just darling.

The Daylight Savings Monday drowsies created some extra yawns in the playroom this morning! Luckily, Amy has just the cure for The Mondays. Monday means a new book, and some paired interactive activities, from our monthly Curriculum Box!

This March, we are learning all about ponds. Their various functions, locations, resident animals and wildlife, and more! Enraptured by the brand new “Follow the Path” book, The kiddos couldn’t wait to adorn their papers with stickers of all the new pond-dwellers they identified.

We absolutely love our Curriculum Box-guided circle time! Play and learning should always go hand-in-hand, and these bright kids show just how devotedly art, reading, and socializing can promote an eagerness to create, discover, and ask questions.

Welcome to Auntie Amy’s Child Care!

My name is Amy and I have the best job in the world! I run a small in home child care in West Valley. I get to spend my days watching young children grow and learn from me and each other.

I do have a preschool program that I teach along with play based learning. Children learn the best through play and I do my best to foster their interests and follow their lead.

I have been working with children professionally for over ten years and have consistently done trainings and earned endorsements to best learn how to help children grow and learn.

I have several animals at my home, including dogs, goats, and chickens! The children in my program love to see them and interact with them often.
