Why Take Lessons from Me?
When I was a youngster my mother would say to me, “Some day you’ll be glad I nagged you into practicing!” I can honestly say Mom was right. Playing the piano is a joy and pleasure for me. I can help you feel the same way!
I have many, many years of piano experience – performing, teaching, and accompanying. I could charge more, but I choose to charge a reasonable fee for lessons because I want to share my love of the piano with as many people as possible.

What Skill Levels Do I Teach?
I enjoy teaching all skill levels. You’ve never touched a keyboard before? Can’t read a note of music? I’m happy to teach you the basics so you’ll have a strong base for your musical experience.
Are you preparing for a competition at school, or an upcoming recital or performance? I’ll help you fine-tune your playing to earn high scores and make yourself proud.

What do I teach?
I teach a strong understanding of how to read printed music, how to understand musical notation, how to sightread new music, and general music theory.
I teach from the classical composers and from contemporary artists as well. I want my students to learn to play the music they want to play.
I teach with an emphasis on dynamics, phrasing, and solo performance skills, as well as the skills needed to accompany vocal and instrumental soloists, and group and congregational singing.
