Little Dogs Creating Moments That Matter: First Day of School Book Vending Machine Raffle

What an AMAZING first day of school for our students! Meeting new friends, catching up on all we did this summer, and new classrooms!

At our welcome assembly, DCES principal, Dr. Cooper, detailed how to earn a coin for the NEW Book Vending Machine:

⭐️ Earn BARK Points (Believe, Achieve, Respect, and Kind)
⭐️ Excel in the classroom
⭐️ Earn Little Dog of the Week
⭐️ Be in Attendance
⭐️ Be a top reader in our Accelerated Reader Program
⭐️ Exceptional Growth on benchmark testing
⭐️ Caught doing acts of kindness

Today we held an attendance raffle and one student per grade level earned a new book - Just for being present today!

Tomorrow, the doors open. 💛
💚

The buses will roll before sunrise. Classroom lights will come on. Breakfast will be waiting. Teachers will be standing at their doors, and hallways that have been far too quiet will come back to life.

But most importantly, our students will be back.

To the student who can’t wait for the first day—we’re ready for you.

To the one who’s a little nervous—we’re ready for you, too.

To the student who loves school and the one who hasn’t quite found their place yet.

To the one who will ace the test and the one who will need a little extra help.

To the one surrounded by friends and the one hoping to make just one.

To the child who walks through the doors carrying everything they need—and the one carrying burdens no child should have to carry.

Come on in.

There are people waiting for you.

People who will teach you, feed you, encourage you, challenge you, listen to you, celebrate you and remind you that you matter.

We won’t have a perfect year. There will be hard days, mistakes and moments when we have to try again.

But that’s part of growing—and we’ll do it together.

Tomorrow morning, families across our community will send us the people they love most.

What an incredible responsibility.

What an extraordinary privilege.

🚌💚💛 Buses roll Thursday—let’s keep safety on the way!

Our Bulldogs will soon be back on the road, so here’s one simple rule we all need to know:

🛑 When red lights glow, you don’t go!
Stop sign out? Bulldogs are moving about! 🚌🐾

Please slow down, stay alert, and STOP whenever a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop sign extended. A few seconds of patience can make all the difference.

⏰ Bus Schedule: The times listed are approximate and may change based on the number of riders, traffic, route conditions, and other factors—especially during the first few days of school.

Let’s keep safety on their side! 💚💛
