The Music Cellar

We offer private piano, guitar, violin, ukulele, and viola lessons. Our Tuition is $25.00 per 1/2 hour lesson. Established in 1983, The Music Cellar provides private Piano, Violin, Viola, and Guitar lessons.

Your child will be exposed to a variety of repertoire, theory, ear training, and performance opportunities. Our curriculum is designed to give your child a complete picture of music through private lessons and to develop lasting musical skills. We, at The Music Cellar, are proud of our reputation for putting the student first in every area of our educational program. We feel that this attitude is one of the most important contributions to our success and to the success of the children we serve. For more information, visit

Mission: "Where Music Means Education"

Operating as usual

19 years later, we will never forget the horror over 2,000 people endured that day. We thank every officer, paramedic, firefighter, and volunteer that ran to help with no regard for their own safety.

Never Forget.

We’ll never be able to say “thank you” enough to the brave men and women who gave their lives running into danger on this day 19 years ago. We will never be able to repay them for their sacrifice, but we will always honor their bravery. Thank you, first responders, for all that you do ❤️

[09/02/20]   Just a reminder to everyone that we are CLOSED on Monday, September 7, 2020 in observance of Labor Day. Thank you!

We’re really good at finding jokes to post, but we’re even better at teaching! Sign up now and get your first two lessons free. Yes, FREE! If you’re uncomfortable going out due to the virus, we can accommodate online lessons. With so many kids home now taking classes, why not give them music lessons?

Music lessons are great because:

1. We can be an unofficial “class for art and music.”
2. We can assist in math problems due to the learning of counting rhythms and notes.
3. We make learning fun!
4. Children can still socialize in a safe environment.

Come try us today!

Here, we don’t use texting hands. We use MONSTER HANDS!!

We know that everything is crazy right now with our "new normal", and with school starting soon, why not try out music lessons? We are offering new students two free lessons in piano, guitar, ukulele, violin, and viola lessons either online or in person! We accommodate all types of learners and can teach any skill level, and at any age!

How NOT To Look After Your Instrument!

Thanks TwoSet! It’s always great to care for your instrument properly. Remember, keep it out of the sun, don’t play with wet hands, and please, don’t tighten the bow too tight!

[07/22/20]   We want to thank each and every one of our parents and students for helping us get back and running. We know it’s an awful lot to have all these new rules for lessons, but we just wanted to take the time to say a huge thank you to everyone that has been patient with us as we follow the guidelines set forth. Remember, if you’ve been out of state or country within the last two weeks, or have been in close contact with someone who has been out of state/country/has the virus, please call us and we can move your lesson to a virtual session for the week. We will keep the lessons at the scheduled time you selected, and it keeps everyone safe as well.

Thank you guys! You all are awesome!

The Piano Guys always give us a good laugh.

Oh, Itzhak... there goes Fur Elise.

I don’t think I’ll ever look at a Für Elise sign the same again…

WE ARE OPENING! July 6th is the day! First day of in person lessons!

[06/23/20]   New COVID-19 Procedures for the Music Cellar!

While we are now allowed to resume in-person lessons, we do have some protocols that have been set into place to ensure that the health and safety of each student is our top priority. As of July 6th, 2020, our new procedures include:

-Due to the limited capacity recommendation given to us by the CDC, only students will be allowed into the studio during their lesson time. We ask that parents remain in the car or utilize our outdoor seating area to minimize the amount of contact. After the end of each lesson, we will walk your child to the car and recap the lesson outside before allowing the next student into the lesson room.

-We ask that each student over the age of five wear a face mask while inside our music studio. While teachers and other staff will be wearing one, we want to ensure the safety of everyone by requesting masks worn while inside the business. Masks are to be worn within the lesson rooms.

-We have hand sanitizers in each lesson room for students and staff to utilize. Each student will be asked to either sanitize their hands or wash their hands (depending on parental preference) before and after the lesson to maintain a clean environment. Each piano will be cleaned and sanitized before and after each student’s lesson.

-For students with violins or guitars, we will tune them (unless the student is able to tune the instrument themselves) and then will sanitize our hands afterward to maintain a clean barrier.

-If you or your child feel “off”, are sick, have a dry cough, fever, or hold any other symptom of illness, we ask that you call and we can hold your lesson at the same time but remotely via Duo, Skype, or Facetime. If a student comes to the lessons showing symptoms, unfortunately they will be asked to leave, and the lesson will be classified as a forfeiture.

Thank you for bearing with us as we learn to navigate within this “new normal”. We hope that we will soon no longer need these procedures, but for the time being, these procedures will be in place as of July 6th, 2020. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 413-747-0339 or send us an email at [email protected].
