Let me make this as simple as possible.
1. Building our own cell tower to be owned by the Fire Department will mean WAY LESS radiation ~ only enough to cover Cornville.
2. Letting a developer build the tower means much less control over power (radiation) levels. It could be loaded to the hilt with transmitters from all carriers at maximum power, extending far beyond Cornville.
3. Building our own tower means that NO ONE is going to fight it over environmental (NEPA), historical (NHPA), or other legal issues. That means it CAN BE BUILT QUICKLY, without delay.
4. You can pay now with a donation, or you can pay *again and again* later with the effects of too much microwave radiation (more vet bills, hive collapses, reduced animal and human fertility, loss of sleep, anxiety, cancer, DNA damage, all kinds of good stuff!).
I personally will not be fighting any tower needed by the fire department, but I would be willing to bet that ***if we don't raise this money, and quickly, someone WILL try to stop it, and service will be delayed!***
There is no question about the negative effects of microwave radiation at FCC approved power levels. The FCC lost a huge lawsuit recently and is being forced to review their exposure guidelines (set in 1996) after 11,000 pages of evidence of harm below legal levels were submitted as evidence. The USA has the highest exposure guidelines in the world, 10-100x higher than all other countries (except Australia). It's not safe.
I know this is a strange situation to ask the community to fund its own tower, but it's for our own good. It gets everyone what they want - 911 and cell service, but not overpowered 24/7 radiation that damages all living things.
Donate now, or pay and pay and pay down the road in many other ways. You decide!
