Dear Parents,
I know many of you have seen the news and social media in early February. The horrific & unfortunate events going on in some early learning centers & daycares was unsettling, sad, and disappointing. At Peaceful Heights Montessori School we are committed to providing high-quality early care and education through close and thoughtful partnerships with educators, families, child development professionals, and our local state agencies. Uniquely we stress our teachers to proactively send their version of these messages to the children and co-workers every day. The proactivity is positive for everyone but importantly prevents the opposite of these messages inside our space.
BE SHARING, BE PLAYING, BE LISTENING, BE SMILING,
BE THINKING, BE HONEST, BE FAIR, BE HAPPY, BE SMART,
BE GROWING, BE EXCITED, BE HUMBLE, BE POLITE,
SAY I'M SORRY, SAY PLEASE, HELP YOURSELF, SAY EXCUSE ME,
TAKE TURNS, SAY THANK YOU, BE HELPING, BE WORKING.
The tenets that guide and inspire our work:
* Children reach their fullest potential in nurturing and secure spaces that provide appropriate progress in good relationships with their peers.
* The family is a child’s first teacher and the experts on their child so we include some of the messaging for take home to support a full potential with the family partnership.
* Educators are the heart and soul of the school and as such we are committed to uplifting and celebrating our teachers’ professional growth through professional development, compensation while we encourage them to demonstrate positive words and actions.
Peaceful Heights Montessori School strives to be advocates for all children, families, and educators within our community and beyond as we lead positive impacts on the future of our youngest citizens and families hoping, of course, that the messages are received and actively prevent the culture of anger and selfishness.
