Congratulations Class of 2026!

Congratulations to our incredible River City swimmers, Brianna Gough and Maddie Hendrix, for representing River City at the CIF State Swim Meet this past weekend!

On Friday, Brianna swam a personal best time of 1:48.79 in the 200-yard freestyle, earning a spot in Saturday’s A Finals. She also competed in the 100-yard freestyle and advanced to the B Finals!

On Saturday, Brianna finished an outstanding:
8th overall in the 200 freestyle
11th overall in the 100 freestyle
…in the entire state of California!

Maddie also had an incredible performance on Saturday, swimming:
A personal best 42.97 in the 50-yard freestyle
An amazing 5.55-second drop in the 100-yard freestyle for another personal best performance

Maddie earned:
2nd place in the 50 freestyle
2nd place in the 100 freestyle

We are so proud of Brianna and Maddie for their hard work, determination, and the incredible way they represented River City on the state stage. Please congratulate them when you see them for an amazing finish to both the swim season and their senior year!

This past Saturday, our River City Music Program along with the Bridgeway/Stonegate and Southport/Westmore Oaks music programs traveled to American Canyon High School to participate in the Music in the Parks competition.

Here are the list of accolades received by our high school musicians:
-River City High School Chamber Orchestra received an Excellent Rating and 2nd Place in the High School Orchestra Division.
-River City High School Concert Choir received an Excellent Rating and 3rd Place in the High School Choir Division.
-RCHS Sea-Monkeys: Swinging by Moonlight received a Unanimous Superior Rating and 5th Place in the High School Jazz Division.
-RCHS Sea-Monkeys: Swing Von received a Unanimous Superior Rating and 4th Place in the High School Jazz Division.
-River City Big Band received a Unanimous Super Rating and 2nd Place in the High School Jazz Division.
-RCHS Sea-Monkeys: On a Saturday received a Unanimous Superior Rating, 1st Place in the High School Jazz Division and BEST OVERALL Jazz Ensemble for the day!

-River City High School Concert Band received a Unanimous Super Rating, 1st Place in the High School Concert Band Division and BEST OVERALL Concert Band for the day!

-Lachlan Keightley received an Individual Solo Jazz Award for his outstanding solos!(Only one of these are given to a high schooler at this event)

Thank you to all the chaperones, bus drivers, transportation, administration, families, and students for helping make this trip successful. Congrats to all our hard working students for representing River City and WUSD with honor and pride.

For the first time in at least 30 years, River City Raiders musicians qualified for the STATE level festival—and they represented our school with incredible talent, dedication, and pride!
Joe Baugh earned a Silver Rating for his outstanding piano performances of Chopin and Debussy.
Our talented String Quartet—Isabelle Hunn, William Updegrove, Oscar Monjaras Amezquita, and Bailey Garcia—also brought home a Silver Rating with their performance of the Allegretto from Beethoven’s 7th Symphony. Even more impressive, three of these four musicians began their musical journey right here at River City!
Special congratulations to Yash Saini, who achieved a GOLD Rating at the state level for his performance of the 2nd movement of Weber’s First Clarinet Concerto!
These remarkable students continue to demonstrate that River City musicians can excel at the highest levels in both classical and jazz performance, an achievement that is truly rare and extraordinary.

Yesterday, River City ACE students participated in the ACE Mentor Program California Capital Region Final Presentation and Awards Ceremony.
Since December 2025, students have been learning about architecture, construction, and engineering from industry partners while developing a proposal for a new entertainment center on an empty lot near the future Kaiser hospital and soccer stadium in the Railyards district.

Ms. Alavi and Ms. Tan are beyond proud to celebrate our two outstanding teams:
Carz Inc. (Cedric M., Aiden L., Rajat S., and Zachary U.)
Willow Designs (Maile R., Sarah E., Anna Y., and Cassey T.)

Carz Inc. captured 1st place
Willow Designs earned 2nd place
Cedric and Rajat were each awarded $2,000 scholarships to continue pursuing their passions in architecture, construction, and engineering!
