James Marshall Parent Nursery School We value kindness, diversity, equity, and life-long learning. Parents gathered for work parties to clean, repair, and redecorate an old school building.

For over 60 years James Marshall Parent Participation Nursery School (JMPPNS) has provided an education setting where parents and teachers come together to guide the learning experiences of each child. Our school offers an opportunity for parents and children to learn about themselves and each other in an environment designed for growth and exploration. JMPPNS was founded in 1954 by a group of par

ents who wanted to establish a cooperative preschool for their children. That commitment to parent involvement remains the hallmark of our school. JMPPNS is the first and only cooperative school of its kind in West Sacramento. A big thanks to our business sponsors for the 2017-2018 school year:

Thanks to a grant from and JMPNS was able to purchase two hydroponic towers to expand our health, nutrition, and science curriculum. We’ve had 3 full harvests since November, sending fresh produce home with our families who now have children excited to eat what they’ve grown together at school!
