Last week, we had our baseball banquet to celebrate our amazing state championship-winning season.

To commemorate the win, each player received a plaque with a photo from the state championship game trophy ceremony and the scorecard from the game.

Usually, our team members would have received their rings at the banquet, but given the short time between the championship game and the celebration, they are going to have to wait a few more weeks for those.

Catholic Memorial is thrilled to announce that three people will be joining Head of Athletics and Performance Jephte Soulouque, Coach John DiBiaso, Coach Adam Pascal, and Trainer Gillian Long in our Athletics Department.

PJ Rufo will serve as our Athletic Operations Manager. He joined CM as an English teacher in 2017 and quickly became one of our most popular teachers thanks to his teaching style and sense of humor. He moved to our counseling department last year.

Outside the classroom, he thrived as sprints and jump coach for our track and field. His athletes have won 15 MIAA Division 2 State Championships, three MIAA All-State titles, and one New Balance National Championship. Starting in 2024, he has served as our Director of Football Operations.

Larry Rooney P'19 has been named our Director of Coaching and Collegiate Advancement, and Enrollment Liaison. He previously was our Associate Director of Admissions and External Affairs.

As our varsity hockey coach, Coach Rooney has maintained our tradition of greatness on the ice, leading us to four Catholic Conference championships and the 2025 MIAA Division 1 State Championship.

Rooney will continue to coach our varsity hockey team.

Lindsay Scuoteguazza has been appointed our new Head Athletic Trainer. She joins us from BC High and has experience as a trainer with Mass General Brigham, Clark University, and Marathon Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from Sacred Heart University and a Master’s Degree in Exercise and Health Promotion from Pennsylvania Western University – California.

Congratulations to all three on their new roles.
