Portsmouth West Middle and High Schools will be hosting an optional on-site vaccine clinic held by the Scioto County Health Department during school hours on Thursday, September 3rd starting at the Middle School at 9am and moving to the High School afterward for 7th-grade students and Senior students who still need the state-mandated vaccines. CCP and Vocational students are welcome to attend either school clinic.

State-mandated vaccines:
7th grade -Tdap and Meningitis
12th grade- 2nd dose of Meningitis

Parents are welcome to accompany their student but are not required to do so. Attached are the Clinic flyer and Registration forms, which must be filled out and turned in prior to receiving the vaccines, along with a copy of your insurance or medical card. Medical insurance is not required to receive the vaccines. They will be provided free to those without medical insurance coverage.

ATTN SENIORS AND PARENTS OF SENIORS:

Cap & Gown orders are to be placed through Herff Jones. Register at https://gradmidwest.com/my-account/ and then you can purchase the cap & gown. All that is required is the cap, gown and tassel unit (found by scrolling down the packages page and clicking 'shop individual items'), not the large packages unless you choose to do so. If you order by December 18th, your cap & gown will be delivered to the high school several months prior to graduation, and you will not need to pay expedited shipping. CTC students, a Herff Jones representative will also be out to your school to repeat this information.

IMPORTANT Be sure to select YOUR CORRECT SCHOOL. If you select the wrong school, your order may not be correctly fulfilled and will not be refunded if so. Be sure to scroll to the end of the schools, as yours may be towards the bottom.

Attention PWHS Seniors and parents of seniors:

12th graders are required to get the Meningococcal 2nd dose vaccine, unless the first was received after your 16th birthday, and then only one dose is required.

The deadline to receive this vaccine is September 9th before you will be excluded from school, which will count against your attendance.

This vaccine can be acquired at the health dept., pharmacies, or your P*P.
