Washington-Nile Community,

Due to a potentially dangerous situation that took place off campus but near our schools, in an abundance of caution, Washington-Nile Schools went to a CODE YELLOW. There was no threat to our students and staff, but once again safety is our
main concern.

We have been in contact with the Sheriff’s Department and they have advised us that we can return to our normal operation.

In this situation, as a district, we limit unnecessary hallway movement. All of our students remain inside their buildings as the campus was monitored by our Schools Resource Officer and administrative staff.

It is our top priority to maintain a safe learning and working environment for our students and staff.
