Every year I read the book “Our Class is a Family” and we discuss the traits we should show to be a class family. Showing kindness and respect (even on days that we may not be seeing eye to eye like we have to do with mom or dad 🤣), sharing (even if we don’t want to just like we would have to with siblings 😉) and having one another’s backs at the end of the day (like every great family)! This is one of my favorite discussions of the entire year and this year, I added in a promise bracelet making activity with the lesson (on the 2nd day of 1st grade like a crazy person 🫣). Much to my happiness, it went surprisingly well and we had so much fun! We all promise to be a class family!
