Today we explored paint, and painters tape. Using their hands the children mixed white and red paint as they painted over masking tape letters. As they paint they are asked open ended questions such as "how does the paint feel in your fingers", "does the paint smell? What does it smell like?" "Is the paint changing colors?"... asking questions opens up little ones scientific thinking, giving them a chance to explore and have their own answers. Tomorrow we'll peel the tape off to reveal our masterpieces.
