This summer we’re showcasing creative activities and learning opportunities from across our campus this past year! 🦁

Here is Mrs. Flechtner’s 2nd Grade class participating in an economics activity. Students created shops featuring handmade items. Each student also received a set amount of money to spend and they could use their profits to shop too. What a creative way to learn the concepts of producing and consuming and thank you to Mrs. Flechtner for providing this opportunity!

Hope that all of our Lion students, families, teachers, and staff are having a great summer so far! Throughout the summer we’ll be showcasing some great activities that happened in classrooms this year!

Let’s start with our Kindergarten Lions visiting “Starbooks” in their classrooms! This was a fun and creative way for students to apply their learning of counting money, reading great books, and enjoying delicious items! 🧋🍪📚

Congratulations to our 5th Grade Lions for being such amazing students, leaders, and friends! We kicked off the celebrations yesterday with a glow party yesterday sponsored by PTO & 5th Grade families! Thank you to Vivid Source Events and Rentals for providing the DJ & MC Services! This morning we concluded the celebrations with our 5th Grade Awards & Promotion Ceremony. We honored their strong work ethic and recognized amazing accomplishments! We wish you the best in middle school and we can't wait to see how much you shine! Just remember that you'll always be a Lion! 🦁❤️

Congratulations to Officer Jim who is retiring from the School District Police Department. Jim has served at Cypress Trails for 8 years and previously served in the New York City Police Department. Jim is the quintessential elementary school police officer. He is kind and focused on relationships with students and families. He is also admired by his colleagues who surprised him this morning in our car loop with donuts and flashing lights in his honor. Join us in wishing him the best!! 👮🏻‍♂️❤️

Wow!! There is nothing more powerful in education than seeing our students achieve their dreams and goals!! This morning we welcomed back our former CTES Lions who are graduating in the Class of 2026! This was so special as they inspired our young Lions, reconnected with their former teachers, and had a moment to be a kid again and walk the same hall and even play on the same playground! They even connected with our younger Lions by reading to them and being amazing role models.

We're excited for this new tradition each year and congratulations to the Class of 2026!! 🎓
