Addy’s Playground of Possibility is officially open at Connections, and we couldn’t be happier to see our students playing, exploring, and enjoying this wonderful new space.

A new space for children with autism is now open in West Palm Beach, featuring sensory elements, a communication board and features that help students practice real-world safety skills.

A few more smiles from a very special day at Connections! 💙🛝 Yesterday, we celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Addy’s Playground of Possibility. Seeing our students enjoying their new playground made the celebration even better.

Addy, thank you for your extraordinary generosity and for making this beautiful space possible. Your gift will bring joy to our students for years to come, and we’re so grateful for your love and support.

We also extend a warm thank-you to Anne Gerwig for State Representative District 93 Abby Ross, Tradrick McCoy, and Rep. Tendrich for joining us to celebrate. We appreciate you taking the time to share this special day with our Connections community! 💙

Happy heavenly birthday to our dear friend, Stephanie Tooker. ❤️🌻 Stephanie was one of our founders and a beloved team member who passed away five years ago — way too early.

She made the world a better place, and we’re so grateful for the time we had with her. Happy birthday, Stephanie! We miss you dearly.

Our leadership team was happy to attend the 30th Annual The Taste of Martin County this evening in support of our longtime friends and partners at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties. This amazing food and beverage tasting event is also the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, helping recruit, screen, match, and support mentors who build meaningful one-to-one relationships with local youth.

Connections has worked closely with Big Brothers Big Sisters for years, and we’re grateful for the care and commitment they bring to our community. It was a pleasure to celebrate 30 years of The Big Taste and support the work they do to help young people feel supported, encouraged, and connected.

Communication looks different for everyone—and every way of communicating deserves to be heard. 💙💬 October is Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Awareness Month! AAC includes tools and methods such as picture boards, gestures, and speech-generating devices that help people communicate alongside or in place of spoken words.

At Connections, we celebrate communication in all its forms. For many students with autism, AAC provides a way to share their thoughts, express feelings, ask questions, make choices, and connect with the people around them.

This October, during National Principals Month, we’re celebrating two of our favorite people: Melissa Carman, Principal of Connections Education Center, and Pam Ludwick, Principal of Connections High School & Vocational Center! 👏

Their leadership helps create a community where students with autism can learn, grow, and feel valued – and their care extends to the teachers, staff, and families who make that progress possible, too.
