Save the Arts! 05/29/2026

The arts change lives.

For nearly three decades, Bak Middle School of the Arts has empowered students to discover their talents, find their voice, and pursue excellence in music, dance, theater, visual arts, communications, and more. The arts are not simply an extracurricular activity, they are fundamental to developing creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership skills that last a lifetime.

Today, arts education faces growing challenges, making community support more important than ever. Through the Save the Arts campaign, the Bak Middle School of the Arts Foundation is working to raise awareness and resources to ensure every student continues to have access to the transformative power of arts education.

When Communications student Avi G. learned about the campaign, she was inspired to take action. Partnering with fellow Communications student Ambika K., the two students conceptualized, produced, and created this piece entirely on their own. With no creative direction provided, they were simply asked to share why the arts matter through the eyes of a Bak student, and their passion speaks for itself.

When we invest in the arts, we invest in our future. We nurture innovators, storytellers, performers, and leaders who will enrich our communities for generations to come.

Join us in supporting arts education and helping the next generation of artists thrive. Your participation in this annual campaign helps us secure additional funding.

Last week the Bak MSOA Advanced Band took Boston by storm! 🎶✨

Performing at the Heritage Music Festival at the Mosesian Center for the Arts, our talented musicians represented Bak with excellence, artistry, and heart, and the results were nothing short of extraordinary.

🥇 Bak was the only school invited to the prestigious Festival of Gold next year, a true testament to the caliber of our program and students.

🌟 A special congratulations to David Qi who earned the Maestro Award for saxophone and received an incredible invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall, what an achievement!

Beyond the stage, students immersed themselves in unforgettable musical and cultural experiences, including a visit to the New England Conservatory of Music, the iconic Boston Symphony Hall, and the historic Boston Tea Party Museum, with a little fun mixed in at Dave & Buster’s, of course! 🎉

This trip was the perfect blend of performance, education, and celebration, and we couldn’t be more proud of our incredible students and directors for showcasing the power and excellence of arts education.
