☀️ Greene Summer Snapshots: Solar Car Challenge Edition 🏎️

From the drawing board to the driver’s seat! ☀️🏁

Zayn Z. spent time this summer putting science, engineering, and innovation into action as a key member of Palm Beach 4H TechGarage, competing in the Solar Car Challenge!

As the team’s Lead Electrical Engineer, Zayn plays a critical role in designing, documenting, and implementing the vehicle’s electrical systems. His meticulous work and attention to detail help ensure that the car’s systems work together seamlessly, even under the demands of a race.

And Zayn isn’t just behind the engineering. He’s also one of the team’s race drivers!

After helping TechGarage earn its first National Championship in 2025, Zayn returned this year with even greater responsibility. His team went on to capture first place again, this time completing a cross-country road race through Texas and securing back-to-back championships!

The Solar Car Challenge inspires high school students around the world to explore science and engineering while building roadworthy solar-powered vehicles and raising awareness of alternative energy.

🩺 Greene Summer Snapshots: Harvard MEDscience Edition 🩺

From the classroom to the clinic! 🏥✨

After being accepted into the Harvard MEDscience program this spring, Polina G. (rising senior) and Nate E. (rising junior) spent part of their summer in Boston completing an intensive week-long clinical course filled with hands-on learning and real-world medical simulations.

Throughout the week, Polina and Nate developed practical skills used across a variety of medical professions, including suturing wounds, performing a tube thoracostomy, and participating in immersive patient care simulations. From emergency medicine and critical care to even delivering babies, each simulation challenged them to think critically and work collaboratively. They also earned their CPR and Stop the Bleed certifications!

When they weren’t sharpening their clinical skills, they explored the best of Boston with Ms. Gunner, enjoying a ghost tour, visiting the New England Aquarium, and touring the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.

🎶Greene Summer Snapshots: Chicago Blues Camp Edition🎶

From Florida to the Windy City! 🌆🎸

This summer, brothers DJ (rising 10th grader) and Tristan (rising 5th grader) traveled to downtown Chicago to attend Blues Camp at Columbia College Chicago.

The camp is dedicated to preserving, performing, and promoting the Blues through immersive music education. Campers explored music through hands-on learning while building creativity, confidence, teamwork, and communication skills through activities focused on social and emotional learning, literacy, and STEAM.

When they weren’t at camp, DJ and Tristan took time to explore all that Chicago has to offer, creating lasting memories while experiencing the city’s iconic sights, culture, and music scene.

What an incredible opportunity to experience Chicago’s rich Blues tradition, make new friends, and grow as young musicians!

⛵Greene Summer Snapshots: New Jersey Sailing Edition⛵

Summer is the perfect time to sharpen your skills, and that’s exactly what The Greene School Sailing Team did!

This summer, our sailors traveled to New Jersey for an intensive collegiate-style preseason training camp, followed by the Mid-Atlantic Regatta on Barnegat Bay. Modeled after the preseason camps of top collegiate sailing programs, this immersive experience is one that very few high school teams and, to our knowledge, only The Greene School offers its student-athletes. Working alongside nationally recognized coaches from Brown University, Stanford University, Georgetown University, and 73 Sailing, our team developed their skills in boat handling, racing strategy, teamwork, and communication while preparing for the season ahead.

The hard work paid off on the water with impressive performances throughout the regatta, including multiple top-15 finishes, strong debuts for several first-time C420 racers, and countless moments of growth and teamwork.

The experience extended far beyond sailing. From preparing meals together and sharing household responsibilities to exploring the Jersey Shore and building lifelong friendships, our Dolphins returned home stronger as sailors, teammates, and leaders.

We’re incredibly proud of Cameron G., Zayn Z., Penelope M., Desmond B., Layth Z., Naveen M., Jameson P., and Andrew M. for representing The Greene School with skill, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

From the moment you arrive on campus, these are usually the first faces to welcome you. Whether they are greeting students and families, stepping in wherever needed, lending a helping hand, or quietly working behind the scenes to keep our campus safe, they do it all with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care.

Their watchful presence gives our community peace of mind, but it’s their warmth, positivity, and willingness to help that truly make them such a special part of The Greene School. These three go above and beyond every single day, and our school is a better place because of them.

📸Greene Summer Snapshots: Cal Ripken 9U Southeast Regionals Edition⚾

The road to regionals starts here! 🐬⚾

One week from today, TGS student Oliver K. will head to Virginia to compete in the Cal Ripken 9U Southeast Regional Tournament with the Okeeheelee Savages 9U All-Stars!

Last week, after ending an incredible 21-1 season, the Savages earned their spot in this prestigious tournament. Qualifying All-Star teams from across the Southeast, including Florida and North Carolina, will travel to Virginia next week to compete for the regional title.

Oliver, you’ve already proven yourself to be a champion by making it this far! Your Greene School family is incredibly proud of you and wishes you safe travels, unforgettable memories, and the very best of luck as you compete on the regional stage.
