SAVING A LIFE ❤️
When a staff member at Independence Middle School in Jupiter went into cardiac arrest in front of a classroom last month, the school's Heart Safe Team sprung into action! They performed life-saving actions until paramedics arrived. That staff member is recovering, thanks to their heroic colleagues.

The Heart Safe Team includes administration, the school counselor, School Police Officer, school nurse, office staff, and a Pre-Medical Academy instructor. Through a partnership with Nicklaus Children's Hospital and Project ADAM, every school in the School District of Palm Beach County has a Heart Safe Team that is trained to respond to sudden cardiac arrest.

Capt. Caudio successfully completed 400 hours of advanced coursework, leadership training, and collaborative learning alongside law enforcement professionals from across the state through this prestigious program.

🏆 Congratulations to Sgt. Diana Hayes, recipient of the Distinguished Service Award for Education, presented by the Safety Council of Palm Beach County at the 40th Annual Traffic Safety Awards.

🩸 Through her volunteer work supporting Stop the Bleed training initiatives, Sgt. Hayes has helped educate students throughout Palm Beach County and worked closely with Medical Academy students pursuing careers in healthcare. Her efforts have strengthened partnerships between public safety and education while promoting lifesaving skills that prepare young people to respond in emergencies.

🚔 Through her leadership and outreach, Sgt. Hayes continues to make a positive impact on students and the communities we serve.

🚔 Active shooter training requires preparation, coordination, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

Today, members of our Crisis Response Team (CRT) trained alongside The Jupiter Police Department SWAT and FAU Police Department during an active shooter scenario exercise at FAU’s North Campus. 🎯

These realistic training scenarios strengthen tactical response, communication, and interagency coordination while reinforcing the skills needed to respond to rapidly evolving critical incidents. 🤝

Sgt. Diana Hayes recently provided CPR, AED, and Stop the Bleed training to faculty from the FAU College of Business in collaboration with the FAU Police Department.

Working alongside our local law enforcement partners helps strengthen relationships and ensures more people are prepared to respond when emergencies happen.

Officer Larry Laureano has been leading defensive tactics training, helping our officers stay sharp, confident, and prepared for the year ahead. Through hands-on instruction and practical techniques, officers are sharpening skills that help keep them ready for whatever comes their way.

Training doesn't take a summer break.💪

☀️ While students are enjoying summer break, our department is in full training mode.

Recently, the School Police Emergency Management Division partnered with the Palm Beach County Health Department during a full-scale emergency preparedness exercise focused on coordination, response, and operational readiness.
