It’s cyclical — but only if we let it be.

This morning, during a coaching session, a powerful reminder struck me: as our organizations and churches expand, there’s a risk that some individuals and teams can become disconnected from the very stories that infuse our work with meaning and purpose.

These stories are not merely background noise; they are the heartbeat of our mission. They don’t just drift into the ears of those further removed from the front lines—they require intentional effort to be shared and connected to the everyday experiences of our team.

Leaders play a crucial role in this process. It’s not enough for your people to simply hear these stories; they need to see how those narratives relate to their daily work. When leaders bridge that gap, they create a culture where every task feels significant and every effort valuable.

So, I challenge you: does your organization or church have a system in place to unearth and share these stories at every level?
