A Divided Community, a Critical Moment
This election has sparked deep division within the Jewish American community, with diverse perspectives on our collective future here in the United States. But this is not just another election cycle; today's choices carry historical weight. The echoes of the 1930s—the spread of hatred, fear, and division—are hard to ignore. Just as back then, the Jewish American community currently faces internal division at a time when unity and resilience are paramount.
The history of the 1930s stands as a stark reminder. Adolf Hitler’s rise wasn’t driven only by external hate but also fueled by political division, fear, and underestimation within communities that didn’t recognize the danger. Today, as antisemitism rises and polarization divides our own communities, we must see the risks of allowing division to weaken us. History shows us what’s possible, and Jewish Americans today have the power to shape a different outcome.
Our shared identity and values must unite us against hate. We have to remain vigilant against divisive rhetoric here at home. In this country, we are Americans first; from this shared identity, we find strength in our diverse community.
These essential conversations, along with many others, are explored in my book, "We Need to Talk: The Life of a Jewish American." We can learn from history, reinforce our community, and unite.

So This Happened…
Recently, someone decided to mock my book, "We Need to Talk: The Life of a Jewish American," reducing its message to a stereotype about Jews being “victims.” It’s disappointing but not surprising. This is exactly why I wrote the book—to challenge these narratives that oversimplify and demean the Jewish experience.
Here’s the truth: Jewish people are not perpetual victims. We are survivors, leaders, innovators, and a resilient community that has faced immense adversity throughout history. This book isn’t about playing the victim card—it’s about confronting Jewish hate head-on, about owning our power, and refusing to let others define us.
Yes, there are real challenges we face, and yes, Jewish Americans continue to be targeted, but we are far more than the sum of those hardships. The strength of the Jewish people lies in our ability to persevere, stand proud, and take action, no matter how much hate we encounter.
To those who mock, you’re missing the point. This book is about empowering the Jewish community, sparking conversations, and reclaiming our narrative.

💬 It’s Time to Rethink Our Words: It’s Time to Move Beyond “Zionism” 💬
The term “Zionism,” initially promoted by Theodore Herzl at the First Zionist Congress over a century ago, has become a flashpoint for Jewish hatred. Today, it is weaponized by those who wish to target Jewish Americans.
But the reality is that Jewish people don’t need “Zionism” to describe our connection to Israel. We support Israel, its people, and its right to exist—just like any other nation in the world.
By moving away from the word “Zionism,” we can strip away a tool often used against us and refocus on what truly matters—our unwavering support for Israel, without leaving room for misunderstanding or hate.
Let’s unite, not under labels, but through our actions, pride, and strength as a community.
This is just one of the important conversations I explore in my book, "We Need to Talk: The Life of a Jewish American." It’s time to reclaim our story and shape our narrative.

🛑 Jewish People: Targets, Not Victims 🛑
There’s an important distinction between being a victim and being a target. Jewish people aren’t victims—they’re targets. Targets of harassment, intimidation, and bullying. Just like any form of bullying, there’s a clear imbalance of power: the bullies operate with hate and aggression, while we are often left defending our very right to exist in peace.
What is the best way to confront bullies? Balance the power. We cannot and will not stay silent. The Jewish community must unite, strengthen, and stand tall—both here in the U.S. and in our unwavering support for Israel. When we stand together, we shift the balance of power. We become stronger, louder, and more resilient.
My fellow Jewish Americans, now is the time to come together in all aspects of our community. Our strength lies in our unity.
This is exactly what I explore in my book, "We Need to Talk: The Life of a Jewish American." It’s about how we move forward with strength, pride, and the determination to speak out.

💬 Jewish Hate & Antisemitism: Fear at the Core 💬
At the heart of Jewish hate and antisemitism lies a powerful, destructive emotion: fear. Fear of difference, fear of history, fear of what is not understood. For centuries, this fear has fueled ignorance, prejudice, and violence against the Jewish people.
Fear leads to the othering of communities, fostering myths and falsehoods that have dangerous consequences. But the truth is that fear thrives in the absence of knowledge and empathy. It’s on all of us to break the cycle—by educating, building bridges, and standing against hate in all its forms.
Jewish hate isn’t just a Jewish problem; it’s a human problem. We must confront this fear with courage, speak out against rising antisemitism, and work to create a world where differences are not feared but respected.
Fear cannot be the root of our future. We must replace it with understanding and unity.

🕯️ One Year Later: A Day of Pain not Celebration 🕯️
Today is my birthday, but I find celebrating or even recognizing it hard. Exactly one year ago, Hamas launched a devastating attack on Israel, and the pain of that day still lingers. Israel is now at war on all fronts, and 101 innocent hostages remain in captivity. To add to the heartbreak, celebrations of terrorism and Jewish hate are happening around the world, and it’s being allowed while our so-called allies remain silent.
Over the past 365 days, I’ve been fortunate to experience beautiful moments in my personal life:
• My oldest daughter got married and started a new job.
• My son continues to grow and thrive in his professional life.
• My moldest graduated from high school, earned All-County and All-Conference accolades in softball, and started college.
• My youngest nailed her freshman year with straight A’s, became the starting pitcher for her Freshman and JV teams, and had the best summer of her life.
• And I’m incredibly blessed to have the love and support of my amazing wife through it all. 💖
Despite these blessings, the pain I feel over the events of this past year led me to write my new book. What began as a cathartic exercise to find meaning and understanding after such a tragedy has become something much bigger. I believe I have a responsibility—not just to myself and my family but to the entire Jewish community—to speak out against the rising wave of Jewish hate here in the U.S. and around the world.
While we celebrate our milestones, we cannot forget what’s happening. Israel is still fighting for its survival, and too many remain silent in the face of growing Jewish Hate.
Let’s stand strong. Let’s speak out. And let’s never allow this hate to go unchecked.
