Camp Kipanga

Last day of camp and we went out with a bang: another animal visit and the ice cream truck! We’ll miss everyone and hope all of our campers have a wonderful school year!

Today’s highlights included a visit from the K-9 unit and making our own egg drops out of Legos. I cannot believe we have one day left of camp for the summer! Really gonna miss these faces every day!

My two favorite parts of the day were Backyard PE and and Lego contest to build a mini figure and then build a fort around that Lego figure! So much fun playing silly games to get us moving around and so much creativity with Legos!

Had a visit from an ambulance and another therapy dog! Plus, all of our regular activities for the week.

Week 6 and we are going strong! We had a visit from Eyes of The Wild today and met a bird, angora bunny, alligator, turtle and porcupine! Such a cool visit! Also played chess, did Backyard PE, Level Up Lab, a nature walk and swim, of course! Last Friday we also got to take part in a STEM lab trailer that was visiting Ramapo College, along with some therapy dogs.

And tie-dye was so colorful and bright! Here are a few shots with our awesome shirts!

Special visitors today: bomb squad! Checked out their truck and their robot! And then all the regular stuff like creative writing, archery, cooking Backyard PE and so much more!

It’s hard to focus on the heat when you’re so busy all day! We are really loving sensory story time, archery and cooking (we made our own pizza today) and all of our other activities too!

Week 5 is busier than ever! So busy, I didn’t post yesterday! Week #5 brings us a brand new camp activity: archery! It’s been a huge hit! We also have sensory story time, Backyard PE, cooking, nature and other activities with our friend Jen, fencing and games (depending on the heat), and of course, swim! We are not slowing down!

Just another amazing day camp! We’re busy, we’re moving and we’re being creative!
