Last night we said farewell to our eighth grade graduates! They shared heartwarming reflections of their Blue Rock journey before parents, grandparents, teachers and alums sent them off with diplomas, a glass of cider and a slice of cake. The ceremony was followed by our whole-school end-of-year picnic. We wish everyone a wonderful summer!

Last night, the Middle School students took their audience on a cosmic journey in their adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time. The spectacular adventure featured three astral beings, fantastical creatures, a malevolent telepathic entity and a dark planet, but most of all, humans exploring the power of love to overcome fear, and the dangers of conformity and intolerance. Both actors and spectators came together after the performance for a celebratory snack.

In our hands-on after-school mask making program, the children design and create their own masks while exploring storytelling, identity, and imagination. Through sculpting, the use of mixed materials and painting, each student develops artistic skills alongside confidence and self-expression, bringing their inner world to life through a creation that is entirely their own. Last session is next week, so be on the lookout for your child’s creations!

It is always so delightful to have grandparents and friends visit on Heritage Day! The children welcomed their special guests into their classrooms and together they shared moments of their childhood and time spent in nature, before collaborating on a craft. Everyone went home, their hearts filled with a sense of connection and caring. We look forward to hosting our elders again next year.

It is always so delightful to watch the little ones get on stage in their hand-made costumes (thank you Heather!) and fully embody their imaginary characters. The first, second and third grade parents eagerly gathered to watch three tales of Africa come alive. A river travelled to the sky, a spider managed to steal yams, mangoes and nuts for her fellow savanna grazing animals, and a weaver, painter and potter feasted on the sky. Everyone had a wonderful time!
