One of the things that makes NYCDA Nationals different is that the experience doesn’t end when class is over.

Every season, dancers make connections that lead to real opportunities—Broadway auditions, agency representation, concert dance companies, Radio City, commercial work, college scholarships, and more. In many cases, those opportunities begin right in the ballroom.

This year in Arizona, we’re excited to offer an incredible lineup of special guests, professional seminars, workshops, and networking opportunities designed to help dancers better understand the industry and connect with the people shaping it.

From learning how to build a professional résumé with Joe Lanteri, to preparing for a Broadway career with Eliza Ohman, to exploring contemporary improvisation with Cindy Salgado, an audition workshop for Chloe Arnold’s Syncopated Ladies, and gaining insight from MSA Talent Agency’s Brandon Sierra, these experiences provide a direct bridge between training and the professional world.

At NYCDA, we’re committed to creating pathways—not just to better dancers, but to future artists, professionals, and leaders in the field.

👋 Meet your faculty for the NYCDA Foundation College Scholarship Audition in Phoenix this Sunday, June 28!

✨ Sascha Radetsky, Director of American Ballet Theatre Studio Company and former ABT Principal Dancer

✨ Eliza Ohman, performer in Hamilton, Associate Choreographer of SIX: The Musical, and faculty member at Steps on Broadway

✨ Tina Finkelman Burkett, Founding Artistic Director of BODYTRAFFIC

Representing the worlds of ballet, Broadway, and contemporary dance, these accomplished artists will help identify the next generation of dancers.

The NYCDA Foundation College Scholarship Audition offers dancers the opportunity to be considered for scholarship from NYCDA Foundation and our college partners while being seen by representatives from college dance programs across the country. For many dancers, it is the first step toward college training, professional opportunities, and lifelong connections within the dance community.

There is still time to apply.

The audition is open to rising high school seniors and recent graduates. All audition participants must also be registered for the 4-Day National Workshop.
