Ready-Set-Go Child Development Center

A huge congratulations to Kaylin Weems and Dottie Swain on receiving Ouachita Parish’s Bravery in Action awards and being honored with a proclamation! 👏❤️

When a large grass fire threatened Ready-Set-Go Child Development Center on September 30, Kaylin and Dottie kept the children calm and safe. They also used a garden hose to help protect the grounds until firefighters arrived. Their courage, quick thinking, and care for the children in their charge were truly remarkable.

We are incredibly proud and grateful for both of you. Thank you for stepping up when it mattered most and for showing what it means to put children’s safety first. You are heroes to us and to the Ready-Set-Go family! 🏆🙌

On September 30, a large grass fire on Vancil Road threatened the grounds of Ready-Set-Go Child Development Center. Kaylin Weems and Dottie Swain helped keep the children calm and safe and applied water with a garden hose until firefighters arrived.

At last night’s Ouachita Parish Police Jury meeting, Chief Moore presented Bravery in Action awards to Kaylin and Dottie. Juror Toni Bacon read a proclamation honoring their courage, quick thinking and commitment to the children in their care.

Thank you, Kaylin and Dottie, for stepping forward when the children in your care needed you most. Your courage and commitment to their safety exemplify Bravery in Action.

🍎📄 WHO DOESN’T LOVE A LITTLE FRIENDLY COMPETITION?! 📄🍎

Tag a local business!

We’re calling out ALL of our local businesses — big, small, and everything in between! 👀

Ready Set Go is hosting a Teacher Paper Drive, and we want to see which local businesses can SHOW UP for our teachers! 🏆

We recently learned that some teachers in our community are having to purchase printer paper with their own money just to make copies for their students.

Yeah… we don’t love that.

So let’s do something about it. 💪🏼

📣 THE CHALLENGE:
Gather as much reams of printer paper as you can between now and October 1st and help us stock the classrooms of local teachers in Ouachita Parish!

And what does the winning business get?!

🏆 Local bragging rights
❤️ A little feel-good
🍎 And a WHOLE LOT of thankful teachers!

No fancy trophy needed — although at this point, we might have to make one. 😂

You can host your own collection, challenge another business, bring your donations directly to us for us to keep count, or have them shipped!

📄 ❤️ SMALL SUPPLIES, BIG SUPPORT! ❤️📄

It recently came to our attention that teachers at local schools are purchasing printer paper out of their own pockets to make copies for their classrooms. That’s a need we can come together to help meet!

We’re organizing a printer paper drive to support these teachers and the children they serve. Whether you can give one ream or an entire case, every donation helps keep classrooms stocked and takes one more expense off a teacher’s shoulders.

📄 What to donate: Unopened packages of white (color for special occasions) 8½ × 11-inch copy paper
📍 Drop-off or Ship To location:
Ready Set Go
493 Vancil Rd
West Monroe, La 71292
📅 Please donate by: October 1, 2026

We’d love for our families, friends, and local businesses to join us! If you’re unable to donate, sharing this post is another way to help.

Let’s show our local teachers that their community is behind them. ❤️

If you’re a teacher purchasing your own copy paper, please DM us your school’s name! We’ll keep your name and school confidential and do our best to help as many schools as possible. Our teachers deserve support, and we’d love to make a difference together! ❤️📄

🎉💛 THREE YEARS OF OWNERSHIP, FAITH & LOVE! 💛🎉

Ready Set Go has been serving families since 2012, but September 1, 2023, marked the beginning of a special new chapter when Mr. Drake and Mrs. Alex became our owners! This week, we celebrate THREE YEARS of the heart, dedication, and love they have poured into RSG. ☀️

Their leadership has been such a blessing to our center. They have made RSG a Christian-based learning environment where little hearts are nurtured, growing minds are encouraged, and God’s love is part of our foundation. ✝️❤️

Over these three years, there has been so much to celebrate! Some of RSG’s proud accomplishments include:

🌟 Four-star, Highly Proficient recognition.
🐝 Being named a 2026 Bayou Buzz finalist!
👏 An August 2026 licensing visit with ZERO deficiencies. (This isn’t a first, just the most recent! 😉)
📚 Learning through Frog Street alongside our Christian curriculum, supporting both early learning and faith.

These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our owners and the teachers who bring their vision to life each day. Mr. Drake and Mrs. Alex support their staff, encourage growth, and recognize the important work that happens in every classroom.

And they TRULY love the families they are blessed to serve. Every child’s first steps, newfound confidence, little victories, and big milestones matter to them. The relationships built here are personal, and the trust families place in RSG means so much. 💛

Mr. Drake and Mrs. Alex, thank you for investing your hearts into this center, believing in your staff, and loving our children and families so deeply. We are grateful for the past three years and excited to see what God has planned for the years ahead!

Help us wish them a HAPPY THREE-YEAR OWNERSHIP ANNIVERSARY! 🎉🙏☀️

Before the first day of kindergarten, a foundation is already being built. ☀️🌈

Birth to three is an incredible time of growth. Every comforting response, shared story, song, and playful interaction helps children develop the skills that future learning will build upon.

When we respond to a baby’s babble, we encourage communication. When we explore blocks with a toddler, we encourage curiosity and problem-solving. When we offer comfort during big feelings, we help children feel safe, understood, and supported. 💛

That’s why quality early childhood education matters—even for our youngest little ones. It means caring adults who understand that everyday moments are meaningful opportunities to connect and learn.

At Ready Set Go, we believe those small beginnings deserve big love, thoughtful care, and purposeful learning—in partnership with families.

Learning begins at birth, and the possibilities keep growing. 🌱
