🐾Today, we’re proud to spotlight Hannah Stewart (Fugate), Milton-Union High School Class of 2019! 🐾

Since graduating from Milton Union, Hannah has continued to grow personally and professionally. She currently works as an Intervention Specialist at Schaefer Education Solutions, helping students with disabilities work toward their IEP goals. She graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education/Intervention (PreK-5). Hannah’s proudest accomplishments include graduating from college, playing college tennis, and buying a home with her husband.
One of Hannah’s favorite Milton-Union memories was playing girls’ tennis. She stepped onto the court as a freshman, having never played before. After seeing her hard work and potential, Coach Sharon Paul told her, “I have big plans for you.” Coach Paul’s belief in Hannah encouraged her to keep working hard and showed her the lasting impact that someone’s encouragement can have.

Hannah says the Milton-Union community has always been supportive and encouraging, and that sense of community continues to mean a great deal to her.
Her advice to today’s Bulldogs is:
“Keep pushing yourself to get out of your comfort zone because otherwise you’ll never grow.”
Hannah also reminds us:

“You can always find your way back home. This is your community and always will be, no matter how near or far you are.”
Thank you, Hannah, for sharing your story and reminding us of the importance of hard work, stepping outside your comfort zone, and remembering where you came from.

We are proud of all you have accomplished and proud to call you a Bulldog!

Once a Bulldog, Always a Bulldog!

📱💻 School-Day Device Expectations

To provide a focused, secure, and consistent learning environment, MUHS students are expected to use their school-issued computers for classwork, online learning platforms, and testing.

Personal phones, earbuds or Bluetooth headphones, smartwatches, laptops, and tablets must be powered off and stored in students’ lockers throughout the school day—including during class, lunch, and hallway transitions.

If a school-issued computer is not working properly, students should report the issue to the office or technology team so it can be repaired or replaced.

Documented exceptions may be provided through an IEP, 504 plan, medical need, or prior administrative approval.

Families who need to reach their student during the school day may call the MUHS office at (937) 884-7940.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, equitable, and focused learning environment for every student!

🐾 MUHS Alumni Spotlight: Mark Winters, Class of 1979!

After graduating from Milton-Union, Mark attended Wright State University, where he joined Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). His college education and ROTC experience led him to become a U.S. Army officer. Mark served his country for many years, participating in two conflicts and traveling throughout Europe and the Middle East. He retired from the Army in 2008 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Today, Mark lives in Boise, Idaho. He is a member of several military-related service organizations and is active in his church, Real Life Ministries in Meridian. He has been married for 43 years and is the proud father of four children and grandfather of eight grandchildren. When reflecting on his years at Milton-Union, Mark says his favorite memories involve the great people he encountered including teachers, staff, and fellow students. One teacher who made a particularly lasting impact was Mrs. Laurie (Strauss) Eckert, his drama and English teacher. Mark credits her with challenging and encouraging him to make something of himself, and he has remained in contact with her since graduation. Mark also credits Milton-Union with preparing him well for college, particularly in writing skills. Looking back, he recognizes the dedication of the school's staff and the important role they played in preparing students for life beyond high school.

One of the most important lessons Mark learned during his military career was how to make the best use of the time available to accomplish what needs to be done.
His advice to today's Bulldogs is one we can all take to heart:

“You can succeed if you believe in yourself. Your current circumstances do not need to dictate the rest of your life.”

Thank you, Mark, for sharing your story and for representing Milton-Union so well throughout your life and career! We are proud to call you a Bulldog.

Help us welcome our new Noah Beasley to Milton-Union High School! 🎶

We are excited to welcome our new Choir Director to the Bulldog family! He will be teaching 6–12 Choir and brings a passion for music education and helping students grow through their love of music.

A graduate of Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, he was inspired to become an educator by his high school AP Music Theory teacher, Mrs. Bierschenk, who encouraged students to always do their best.

This year, he is most excited to begin making music with all of the choirs at Milton-Union. Outside of school, he enjoys arranging and composing music.

His message to students and families:
“I am so excited to be the choir director at Milton-Union and am looking forward to all of the fun music we will be learning.”

Welcome to Milton-Union!
