Grass Hill School

Grass Hill School The historic Grass Hill School on West Main Street in Millbury is being fully and painstakingly rest

The Grass Hill School was built in 1861 and operated through
1968. At one time, there were eight grades taught there: 1-4 downstairs
and 5-8 upstairs. Of course, there were few students in West Millbury, so each
grade only took up one or two rows. The Millbury Historical Society has a long-termed lease with the
Town for its use of the school.

Today we received 2 very old desks with folding seats, probably from the 1800's, and a nice folding table, for the schoolhouse. These were donated by Gina Brigham. We can't thank you enough for the donations Gina, this will really bring our visitors back in time when scholars would fill these seats and learn.
