2026-27 Back-to-School Night! 🎉🎶🍔

We were overwhelmed with joy as we welcomed back our Cornerstone families and welcomed so many new ones.

More than just academics, programs, and relationships... we are also a community of people that sing because of who God is!

We fellowship, eat, pray, and sing together because we serve God in an incredible purpose that is beyond this world! And this purpose requires a community to love and encourage each other along the way.

This community is here for you.

Welcome back to Cornerstone, everyone! We are excited for the exciting journey ahead!

Help us welcome Mr. Jason Smith to Cornerstone Prep!

After completing his undergraduate studies in Chemistry at the University of Florida, Mr. Smith made the move to the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned his masters degree in Chemistry.

After Pitt, he stuck around Western PA and continued a 10-year journey in teaching that has now brought him (and his new wife...congratulations, again!) to Cornerstone Prep!

A message that Mr. Smith wanted to share with the Cornerstone community:

"Hello, my name is Jason Smith and I have taught science (mostly chemistry) for over ten years in both high school and college settings. I love Jesus with all my heart and want to use my teaching profession to reveal Jesus to students.

In my free time, you'll find me doing Civil War reenacting, hunting, fishing, playing music, and being with friends. I look forward to teaching at Cornerstone Prep!"

A science teacher that loves Jesus, Creation, Civil War reenacting, music, worship, and working with youth? Yeah, he's going to fit right in around Cornerstone!

Mr. Smith will be teaching some middle and high school science, joining a strong and growing team of veteran teachers in the STEM department.

Share some Cornerstone love and lets welcome him with some encouragement!

Already made plans for fall, but still wondering whether there may be a better fit for your child? It’s not too late to explore your preschool through 12th grade options.

One of the most common reasons families hesitate to even reach out is that they assume Cornerstone Prep will not fit their budget. They would love a Biblically strong, academically rigorous education for their children that aligns with their values, but they assume it is financially out of reach.

We believe in keeping Cornerstone accessible to families across a wide range of income levels. Our need-based tuition reduction program makes a Cornerstone Prep education more affordable than many families expect.

Time and again, parents tell us they wish they had started the conversation sooner. Some have even said they wish they had reached out years ago! In just 10 minutes, we can help you understand your options, answer your questions, and explain how incredibly simple the process can be.

There is no pressure and no commitment. Let’s simply have a conversation to help you make a confident decision for your child and have peace about the year ahead, whether that includes Cornerstone prep or someplace else.

Send us a message to start the conversation today!

At Cornerstone, we are excited to announce a new addition to our high school writing program!

We are partnering with our friends at the CiRCE Institute and adopting The Lost Tools of Writing, a classical writing curriculum that is intentionally designed to help students think clearly, develop strong arguments, organize their ideas, and communicate with the courage and conviction necessary to change the world!

Writing is critical at Cornerstone and to any educated person! It is absolutely one of the most powerful tools a person can have in their toolbox. This addition to our Language Arts curriculum gives our high school students a more formal, rigorous, and intentional path for strengthening their skills and thinking.

Our new partnership will also also support and strengthen all of our teachers' skillsets through professional development and training through CiRCE's guidance and training. After many meetings with them, we are excited about this new program and can't wait to introduce it to our students.

Our goal is never just to produce students that complete essays effectively (especially in the age of AI). We want to equip young men and women as disciples of Jesus Christ who love Biblical Truth and can reason well, write clearly, speak persuasively, and that have a commanding use of the English language in the ultimate service of God's glory!

Read. Write. Think.

Then, go change the world for Jesus' name and for Jesus' sake!

UPDATE: The EITC/OSTC program in Pennsylvania is under heavy attack, potentially impacting tens of thousands of low-income children and families in the Commonwealth by eliminating the program that has allowed schools to raise money for their scholarships and get contributors a tax-credit in return.

HB2632 to disband the 25-year-old EITC/OSTC program was reported out of the PA House Education Committee. Yesterday, the bill went to and was passed by the state House 105-97.

Before the bill hit the floor for a vote, Cornerstone went to the State Capitol to join other school representatives from Philadelphia, Lancaster, Harrisburg, and every corner of PA to fight for families and meet/pray with as many leaders as possible on this issue.

Next, the bill goes to the Senate.

There are many in the state of Pennsylvania fighting against parents' opportunity to send their children to a school that aligns with their family's needs and values.

There are also people fighting for them to keep that choice.

The battle is not over yet...

We believe that parents know their children best and actually need more support and educational opportunities, not less.

Families across income levels are working hard to make ends meet and we are still grateful that this program has been --and we pray continues to be-- a lifeline for their children to have an opportunity they wouldn't have otherwise. These families are heroes and we are here to cheer for them loudly!

Keep pursuing and hang tough!

Want to learn more about how you can get involved? Send us a message for more info.

Ever struggled to connect with someone?

If you’re human, you have…

Sometimes the next step might be simpler than we think.

In this story, I talk about how one simple breakfast (a donut and cup of orange juice) helped me tell apart a pair of twins from that day forward. And it wasn’t because I learned a trick to spot how they looked different. It was because the way one of them saw me from there on out noticeably changed.
This was a pretty cool thing and it made me smile every single time. And I think there is a lesson in that for all of us to grab hold of.

Meals matter in Scripture. A lot. Abraham welcomed strangers in Genesis 18. Jesus shared meals with His disciples, common sinners, and friends. The people of God have long gathered to worship, remember, eat, and talk about the things of God on God’s appointed times, where He set a table for them to join and have fellowship with Him and others in special ways.

There is something powerful about unhurried time around a table. If you’re like me, you may really treasure time shared around a grandmother’s dinner table with adults and children all together, no screens, just talking.

So here’s a simple challenge for your family this week: share a meal together. Put your phones away and turn off the TV. Ask better questions. Talk about what God is doing. Be curious.

You may be surprised by what changes. But don’t stop at one time. It might feel strange at first if it’s new. But like physical training, build the habit, be disciplined, and stay the course!

Like with Abraham's faith that brought about the coming of the lineage of Jesus, the world may never be the same and you may be surprised what God starts doing through something as ordinary as a meal.

Starting a new school year can be really exciting! 🎉

It can also be intimidating, even for returning students...

New students wonder where they'll fit in. Returning students wonder what the year ahead will hold. Parents hope their children will form meaningful friendships and become part of a truly Biblical community where they can grow and belong.

That's why we created Camp Cornerstone for students in grades 8-12.

Just two days after the start of the school year, we load up the students (and teachers!) and head to the Ohiopyle area for three amazing days designed to strengthen friendships, encourage faith in Jesus, and intentionally cultivate a Biblically-centered and God-honoring culture for the year ahead.

Through daily worship, Biblical teaching, personal prayer and devotional time, outdoor adventures, team challenges, and countless conversations throughout the weekend, students build relationships that often help shape the entire school year.

Whether gathered around the campfire, hiking a trail, shooting archery, climbing the rock wall, or worshiping together in chapel...friendships develop, confidence grows, and the roots of our Biblical community grow deeper.

Last year, we watched students arrive as individuals and leave with an even greater feeling that they belong. That's Kingdom culture. That's what we want.

What started out as a new idea quickly became one of our favorite new Cornerstone traditions, and we're excited to do it again!

Camp Cornerstone returns August 21-23.

Information, including packing lists and additional details, will be emailed later this summer. We hope you are as excited as we are!

The Cornerstone Prep Class of 2026: Diverse in their future plans but absolutely unified in their love for God and one another. ❤️

University of Michigan (Business)
Nursing School (BCCC)
Ministry School at God's Bible School and College
Pre-Med at Grove City College
Pre-Law at the University of Pittsburgh
Union Industrial Electrician Apprentice

Every class has a story. Theirs will always stand out as one that chose the harder path: pursuing what is good, true, and possible instead of taking the easier road of cynicism and finger pointing.

They rose above and, by God's grace, they made that choice every day.

As a small group, they used their size as an advantage. They were flexible, close-knit, and poured themselves into other classes and actually invested in other students throughout the school.

They organized Spiritual Emphasis Team, led Senior Service projects that helped fix and build things around campus, and had 100% participation in sports and other extracurricular activities.

There was a deep hunger for God’s Word among this crew. They studied hard, asked great questions, and sought to put the things they learned into practice.

They made Cornerstone a better place. They squeezed as much out of this place as possible and in return they poured as much right back in.

That is an incredible testimony of what our calling is as followers of Jesus: to have the humility to let God use us to bless the world around us, and then have the courage to see it through.

We love this group and are proud beyond words of who they are.

Keep pursuing...

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace." - Numbers 6:24-26

Congratulations to Isaac and Abigail, the Cornerstone Prep Class of 2026 Valedictorian and Salutatorian! 🎓🏅

Isaac will be attending Grove City College where he will study Biology/Pre-Med.

Abigail will be attending the University of Pittsburgh, where she will study Pre-Law.

We are incredibly proud of these two outstanding young people. Their academic achievement is worth celebrating, but even more than that, we are grateful for the Christ-like character and love that they have shown throughout their entire time at Cornerstone.

Isaac and Abigail have been exemplary role models and servants within our school community. They have encouraged younger students, strengthened their peers, honored their families, and used their gifts with humility, diligence, and care for others.

They love the Lord, pursue excellence, and carry themselves with integrity. They are respected and loved by our entire school community. And that is for very good reason.

Isaac and Abigail, thank you for all you have poured into Cornerstone over the years. For your service in Spiritual Emphasis leadership, sports, robotics, and so many other ways inside and outside the classroom, we are better and stronger as a community because of what God has done in and through you both.

Congratulations! We are so proud of you. ❤️
