Purdue University has been named to Forbes’ New Ivies 2025: 20 Great Colleges Employers Love list. Based on a survey of more than 380 senior business leaders, the ranking reflects a shift in hiring trends toward universities producing career-ready graduates. Associate Professor Daniel Aliaga at has led a team of researchers in creating a tool to analyze urban trees on public and private lands across more than 330 cities. His efforts, which combine AI and satellite data, enable researchers to analyze tree distribution at record-breaking speeds.

These advancements align with Purdue Computes' real world impact through artificial intelligence and digital forestry. They are now developing a web portal to scale nationwide for inventory estimation and analysis.

A leader in cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection is taking on one of computing’s most influential leadership roles.

Elisa Bertino, the Samuel D. Conte Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at Purdue University, has been elected president of the ACM - Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society. Beginning July 1, Bertino will help guide the future of computing research, education, and innovation on a global scale.
