A century ago, Purdue University established the School of Home Economics, creating opportunities for women in education, nutrition, design, research, and public service while advancing scientific approaches to everyday life.
This fall, Purdue University Archives and Special Collections invites you to explore “The History of Home Economics at Purdue: How it Shaped Our Campus and Our Lives.” Through photographs, publications, artifacts, and archival records, the exhibition highlights the school's origins, groundbreaking research, Indiana's first nursery school, and the lasting legacy of home economics across Purdue's campus.
