Meet George Jetson in the next WALLA Animated Film Festival showing at the West Lafayette Public Library on Monday August 10, upstairs in the Maple-Walnut rooms at 6pm. Jetsons: The Movie is a fun homage to the days of the VCR with some early CGI and bit of MTV. The film is free and so is bottled water and popcorn.

We hate to see summer end, but there's fun in fall when WALLA members create their latest entry in Prophetstown State Park's Trail of Scarecrows. This year's theme for our construction crew is an episode from the Odyssey. If you'd like to help building a scarecrow or designing the set or making a sign, send us a message. We set up in early September.

WALLA members enjoyed a blast into a watery past at the West Lafayette Public Library last night, learning about Indiana University's Underwater Science excavations in Lake Michigan and the Dominican Republic. Though Indiana has only 45 miles of coastline along Lake Michigan, 50 shipwrecks have been found in the area. There are about 6,000 known shipwrecks in the Great Lakes and over 500 off the shores of the Dominican Republic.
