Our partners at the Tippecanoe County Historical Association invite you to learn more about local archeology with this free program.

Tomorow! Saturday September 19th from 10am-2pm
join TCHA and Purdue University’s Department of Anthropology to celebrate Indiana Archaeology Month at the Tippecanoe Battlefield and Museum Store.

This all ages event will feature many hands-on activities such as an AtlAtl dart throw, Artifact Show and Tell and Identification, a mini excavation and archaeology activity books.

The Tippecanoe Battlefield Museum will also have free entry.

With only four days left before our Fall Session 2026 registration deadline, you may be wondering where you can get a course brochure and information about how to register for classes. Drop by the WALLA office inside the West Lafayette city hall to pick up a brochure or get assistance from one of our helpful volunteer office staff members. The office is open from 10am to 1pm on weekdays. You can reach staff by phone at (765) 746-2006.

Join the WALLA Button Brigade on Friday, September 18 (6-7 pm) at the The Art Museum of Greater Lafayette for the opening reception for Jinan Kim's Boundaries and Networks: The Power of Lines. Complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be provided by the Art League. The Art Museum of Greater Lafayette is located at 102 S. 10th St. in Lafayette. There is a free parking lot near the museum entrance and street parking as well.

WALLAthena is out standing in her field at Prophetstown State Park. She will be joined by several other scarecrows made by our members later this month. Look for the complete Odyssey of Learning tableau at the Trail of Scarecrows event running September 20 through November 1. We look forward to seeing the displays created by other local organizations as well.

Join the WALLA Button Brigade on Monday, September 7 for the dress rehearsal for the Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette's performance of Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap. This a great opportunity to preview a show with a long pedigree put on by terrific local talent. Seating is first come first served; doors open about 7:00. This performance is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

The Civic Theatre is located at 320 S. 5th St. in Lafayette. Parking is available in their lot or on nearby streets.

Our volunteers found a way to beat the heat at the West Lafayette Farmers Market last week. Ice cream! WALLA members will be at the market again on Wednesday sharing information about our Fall 2026 classes and other WALLA events and programs. Drop by to say hi and learn more about lifelong learning classes for adults in our community.
