ATTENTION!!!! UPCOMING BLOOD DRIVE!!!!

Jadon Smoulder will be hosting a Red Cross blood drive this summer. Did you know that 20% of the Red Cross blood supply comes from school based blood drives? Therefore, without community support the Red Cross will be almost 8,000 blood donations short of what is needed for patients in June, July, and August. Your blood donation helps support trauma patients, adults, and children fighting leukemia, burn victims, surgery and organ transplant patients. Your blood donation at Jadon's summer drive will also help support the Red Cross educational scholarship for a graduating senior from Ridgewood High School. Please consider signing up for the blood drive Tuesday July 28th from 12:00pm until 6:00pm at the West Lafayette United Methodist Church. Our Ridgewood community is nothing short of AMAZING. We need to give a HUGE shout out to anyone who donated, promoted, or supported Ridgewood Elementary School's first-ever Red Cross Blood drive. Not only did we help save lives with this blood drive, the students, parents, families, and staff showed support for our community, demonstrated compassion and kindness, and set examples for our youngest learners by donating blood. The units collected will also go a long way in helping increase the scholarship dollars the Red Cross will donate to a graduating senior through their scholarship program. Thank you to everyone who helped make our first blood drive a huge success.

Total productive units: 38 (goal was 25!)

Message from the Third Grade Team. State Testing Begins next week! As this time signals that the end of 3rd grade is near, it's also a bit stressful for the kids. Please speak with your kiddo about how they are feeling and then remind them of a few things: 1) We've been practicing ALL year. 2) This is a test to let the teachers know how to improve their own teaching. 3) All I ask is that they do their best! 4) Even if they already hit the 3rd grade promotion score, encourage them to set a "NEW HIGH SCORE" for themselves. See the attached picture for a lovely opportunity to show your child your support.

On Tuesday May 5, Ridgewood Elementary school will serve as an election location. As a result, there will be NO students at the elementary school that day.

All other buildings and students in the district will operate on a normal schedule.
