Welcome Welcome back to our Sweden & Norway study abroad participants! 🌲
Our students are back home after an incredible journey exploring natural resource management and sustainability across Scandinavia!
During their time abroad, students got hands-on experience examining how Sweden and Norway balance human needs with environmental stewardship. Throughout the program, they:
🌲 Explored Diverse Industries: Looked at how natural resources are managed across forestry, fisheries, wildlife, agriculture, mining, and outdoor recreation.
🏙️ Studied Urban Sustainability: Discovered how cities integrate green technology and sustainable planning into everyday life.
🏔️ Investigated Local Impact: Evaluated how unique landscapes, extreme climates, local wildlife, and social traditions shape the way communities use and protect their environment.
📸 Documented Real Solutions: Researched and captured real-world examples where sustainable resource use makes a lasting difference.
This immersive program was made possible through a fantastic partnership between Purdue University, North Carolina State University, and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.

Welcome home to our Japan study abroad travelers! 🍣🍶🌾
Our Ag Boilers are officially back after a fascinating journey diving deep into the heart of Japan's vibrant food culture, ancient history, and world-renowned agricultural science!
From bustling cities to historic heritage sites, these students explored how Japan perfectly bridges age-old traditions with cutting-edge food innovation.
Highlights from their Japanese expedition:
🧪 The Art of Fermentation: Studying the complex science behind traditional staples like miso, natto, soy sauce, tsukemono, and sake.
🔪 Hands-On Culinary Arts: Stepping into the kitchen for a traditional cooking class to learn local methods, seasoning, and ingredients firsthand.
🍵 Mindfulness & Harmony: Experiencing a ritualistic Japanese tea ceremony, emphasizing presence, respect, and deep cultural harmony.
⛩️ Dynamic Heritage: Wandering through historic shrines, local markets, and experiencing the unique energy of Japan's streets.

Welcome home to our Ireland travelers! 🐎☘️
Our Ag Boilers are officially back after an incredible, immersive journey exploring the heart of Irish agriculture, world-class equine industry, and rich cultural history!
From the rolling hills of County Mayo to the rugged cliffs of the Di**le Peninsula, these students got a firsthand look at how global agriculture, sustainability, and rural heritage connect in the Emerald Isle.
A few highlights from their Irish adventure:
🐎 Elite Equine Tours: Visiting legendary operations like Coolmore Stud, the Irish National Stud, and university equine programs.
🌾 Ag & Sustainability: Exploring innovative farms and learning from the experts at the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE).
🥾 Breathtaking Nature: Hiking in Wild Nephin National Park, ferrying to the Aran Islands, and standing atop the iconic Cliffs of Moher.
🎻 Rich Culture & Cities: Taking a walking tour of Derry, a traditional jaunting car ride in Killarney, and exploring the vibrant streets of Galway, Kilkenny, and Dublin.

Our Ag Boilers officially returned on May 22nd after an absolutely unforgettable, immersive journey exploring the world-famous food, rich history, and vibrant culture of Southern Italy!
From tracing how local food is produced to diving deep into ancient history, our students got a firsthand look at how Southern Italian communities celebrate and sustain their world-class food heritage.

Our students just returned from an incredible 15-day journey exploring the vibrant world of Spanish agrifood entrepreneurship and Mediterranean culture in beautiful Valencia!
During this intensive 3-unit program, our Ag Boilers got an inside look at how global food companies operate, studying how food properties, processing, and environmental conditions impact product performance. They combined rigorous academic concepts with real-world context by visiting local workplaces, agricultural fields, and production facilities.

Our students just spent 10 unforgettable days exploring how agriculture, sustainability, and innovation survive—and thrive—in the Land of Fire and Ice!
From dramatic volcanic landscapes and massive glaciers to fertile valleys and coastal fishing villages, our Ag Boilers got a firsthand look at extreme-environment farming. They learned how local communities adapt to some of the world's most challenging climates while balancing traditional methods with cutting-edge green technology.
