Native Stories and Teaching: Indigenous Ethics as First Philosophies

Native Elders are essential to the survival of tribal nations. Their wisdom and lived experiences demonstrate the wealth of information they hold and the respect they have earned from their communities. Alaska Storyteller and Poet Ishmael Hope will present how the Elders frame their stories into teaching and learning opportunities.

Looking to build a connection that might lead to an internship or a full-time employment position? International student Peer Coaching (ISPC), Women in Engineering (WIEP), Minority Engineering Program (MEP), and Society of Asian Scientist and Engineers (SASE) would like to offer you a special chance to talk one on one with recruiters during the Engineering Meet & Greet Networking Night on April 16th from 6-8pm in STEW 306. This Networking Night will be right before the Just In Time Job Fair that is on April 17th and will give you a chance to talk to companies before interviews and other applicants. This event will cater to those who are still looking to obtain jobs for the summer as well as students looking to build a network for the future. It is intended to be an informal networking reception, so you can expect a cocktail table set-up where company representatives will be able to casually interact with students. There will also be light appetizers available. Free FOOD provided!!!

Poet, educator, and activist Yosimar Reyes will be leading a conversation on poetry and creative writing on Wednesday, March 27th from 12pm-1pm in the Black Cultural Center’s MP3. Please RSVP to [email protected].
Reyes will also be performing his autobiographical one-man show Prieto on March 27th at 6:00pm in Krannert Auditorium. The show follows Yosimar’s journey growing up q***r, poor, and undocumented in the streets of Eastside San Jose.
