This past weekend, Sarah Oh, third-year student pharmacist, went to Washington D.C for the APhA LEADS meeting to start her position as Chair of the National Communications Standing Committee. In this role, she helps oversee APhA-ASP’s social media presence and supports Communications Vice Presidents across the country. We are so proud of her and excited to see what she accomplishes in this role!

Yesterday, during IPA Legislative Day, our members had the privilege of advocating for pharmacists, pharmacy students, and patients at the Indiana Statehouse. It was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with students from Butler and Manchester to engage with state legislators. It was a rewarding experience for our members to communicate the importance of test and treat services, Ashleigh’s Law, dispensing reimbursement, 340B contract protection, and removing barriers to immunization provision by pharmacists. Furthermore, it was fulfilling to hear from a variety of legislators who shared their personal experiences and their commitment towards advancing the profession.

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month! 🩵 As future pharmacists, we have the opportunity to make a difference by educating our communities about cervical cancer prevention. Whether it’s encouraging regular Pap smears, HPV vaccination, or providing resources, we can help raise awareness and support early detection.
