Today we celebrate the next chapter for Prof. Ed Bartlett. For three years, he served as the Purdue Science Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs. He is taking his next giant leap as a professor for Purdue Biological Sciences and Purdue University Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering. His accomplishments include the launch of two new majors (Biomolecular Design and Integrated Science and Business), the establishment of science curriculum at the new Indianapolis location, the development of interdisciplinary learning communities for first-year students, the development of STEM teacher alternative licensure program (SPRINT), and much more. We are grateful for his leadership, vision, and lasting impact on Boilermakers across the sciences. hashtag

While most artificial intelligence models focus on predicting a single, static protein structure, biological reality is far more fluid.

A Purdue University team has developed a solution to that problem. Purdue Science researchers Guang Lin and Ming Chen recently published their multiscale protein dynamics model, named ProTDyn, which has been accepted as a main conference paper at the International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR) 2026.

Purdue innovation was on full display in San Francisco as tech leaders gathered to celebrate the grand opening of Third Coast Foundry, a new hub connecting Midwest startups and researchers with the Bay Area’s vibrant venture capital ecosystem. Third Coast Foundry was created to help university-founded startups access investors, partners and opportunities while strengthening connections between Midwest innovation and coastal capital.
Purdue Science Dean Lucy Flesch was happy to join Dean James (Jim) Bullard, of Purdue University Daniels School of Business, and Brooke Beier, Senior Vice President of Purdue Innovates, for this milestone event. We look forward to the innovations we will instigate.
